I bought a bat house thinking I would just put it up like any bird house. Was I ever wrong. 20-30 ft high, not in the shade. Don't climb, so the bat house waits in the garage until I find a home for it.
Yup. Mmmhhhmm. Sure you did. Dave. Mmmmhhhmmm. Sure you did. (pics, or you must be makin that chit up) LOFL
Found a 6+ foot long black snake one year and about half a dozen copperheads a year or two later. That was before our Jack Russell Terrier now snakes don't stand a chance!
I can attest to that fact too, fellas. Pound for pound, they are probably one of the fiercest dogs ever. Also very VERY loyal......
Found what was left of This coon, somehow he got clobbered by a round that fell off the stack of rounds . He got cremated in the fire pit
I seem to always find those too! I'm gonna grab a beer and head out there to see if I can figure out where they are coming from.
I know even my wife doesn't believe me. I was "in the zone" getting chores done, it didn't even cross my mind to snap a picture. I planted the garlic. Maybe I'll find a nest lined with garlic husk, I'll get a picture of that, just for you
Not so strange I guess but , I found my moisture meter on a stack right where I forgot it, a week earlier ,even got rained on but , powered up and works just fine
Not anything too strange, but I have several chipmunks hanging around my stacks. This summer, when I was piling my wood, I removed some weeds and other stuff from the area that I was going to pile. I found a very small oak sapling growing out from under the old crappy pile. It had 5 or 6 leaves on it. So I dug it out and it still had the acorn attached. A chipmunk or squirrel must have dropped it from the spruce over head as the closest oak is a couple hundred feet away in my neighbours yard. I then moved it to a spot along side of my fence near where my transplanted 3 year old, 2 foot high black walnut is. I figure in about 20 years or so, both may be high enough to see over the wild turnip that seems to grow everywhere.
