    Same in Pa.

Cut off the corners and it's solidly red except for a dot around Harrisburg and another one at State College

They are bailing because they can't afford to live there. East coast and West coasters are moving to the central states.

They are all moving from the state. My wife's relatives there could tell a lot of stories. My wife did what Californians are doing now. First, move to north, to northern most Cali, or up to Oregon or Washington. Then out to Wisconsin.

I don't think that can really happen. We're very nice, but stubborn as all hell, and rooted in tradition. Will assimilate them, one beer at a time.

Be vigilant, don't assume they won't try to change things. They will. I can state this as being from Calif., in a Coastal area I won't even visit unless I'm absolutely required to do so. Don't let your guard down, don't give a transplant an inch- they'll want a mile. Trust me.

I used to live in California as well. Some of my in-laws are those types. That's why it's better if that we have not met each other. ;)

I'm German and Norwegian. You can't get more stubborn. We'll assimilate them Borg style. First, they can ditch their chargers, raiders and niners, and become real football fans, Green Bay Packer fans. Then the beer, then forget your stupid money.
Shiny things don't impress me, unless you've built it yourself.

they will change things....I live in southeastern ohio, we are technically considered part of appalachia, and the northerners move south to escape high tax, high regulation, high crime areas like canton, akron, cleveland, and columbus then immediately start complaining about the fact we have no zoning, no building codes, stinky farms, and people just do what they want.......back in the 90's there were so few of these northerners that it was just an inconvenience to deal with them but fast forward 20+ years and we now have the "port authority" that demands written plans and inspections on such minor things as running 50' of water line or building a fence over 6' tall. Liberalism is a mental disorder, and the fact they move away from this stuff then immediately start trying to implement it at their new home thinking the results will be different proves it

And that is very scary. Yet, I remember when I learned that many people who live in Escanaba came there to get out of Chicago. They think they are living in the country, yet living in the city... I don't get it.

Exactly, what I was trying to say fordf150! You worded it so eloquently, yesterday had a neighbor come up wanted me to sign a petition about cow manure smells. Bought a house that was on a dairy farmer field where primary winds blow across field to house. Farm has been there since 1740 something.

    I did not sign it.

I have several relatives who lived there but moved to Utah to get out of all the taxation.

Yeah, and the dammed cows don't even wipe... Sometimes they even breed out in the open where anyone can see it...

    Austin also.

You all need keep that crap up there on the North side of 70! :BrianK:  No zoning in my township.............yet.

The house I grew up in had about 20 head of cattle directly across the street, and about a dozen horses in pastures that bordered back yard. Only once in a blue moon would the ordoriferous eminations become bothersome. Luckily, no hog or chicken farms nearby.
