Today i got the last trees in that i cut down last november. Coulnt get there with the atv so i had to carry it all out by hand for about 300 meters. I think i got my work out today all ready!
But still i think it is a nice load, its still full of moister it even wants to grow as u can see on the picture.
This afternoon i will proces it and throw it on the “wood hill”.

    Have a nice day all.

Wet birch sure is heavy! It looks fine after being in the woods all winter. It doesn't rot if it's frozen! Nice big pile of splits, too.

Sometimes carrying the wood out is the toughest part of gathering firewood! :salute:

    Good work!

Yeah, that birch looks great. No rot at all.

I used to carry lots of wood out when gathering but basically stopped that habit! Now I pull them out if possible or cut my way in so I can back the trailer up to the wood. Even better now I put the pallet forks on the tractor and carry them out that way. Sometimes I even get stuck so can have some fun...

Well, if you waited for no snow does this mean the carrying-out was not uphill both ways as well, nor barefoot ?

I found that birch will continue to sprout new leaves even after being separated from the stump. One year I used black birch for tomato stakes. They kept sprouting new leaves all summer.

And to think there's a lot of people out there that pay money to go to a gym and don't even get as good of a workout as you got Duvekot

Oh yeah. Just one more benefit of heating with wood.

Yup I suspect that if anyone carries their logs or at least some heavy limbs, they have to be muscle bound at some point. Making sure a good food meal has been Made too.
