Punky oak warmed up the basement just fine this morning, so it's worth the trouble (or some of it). IMG_20180513_53511.jpg

Had not noticed any of this but sounds interesting. Wish I'd known about it before I set that last post a couple weeks ago...

Yep, I've used some punky Oak before...was surprised how well it did. That tree (which was actually kinda close to where this one was) had been laying on the ground for years...and about half of the (very large) tree was still usable (burnable)...I just left the rest for the critters. But this tree was only dead for 4-5 years...and still standing...so whats up with all the rot?!

I hadn't been there in probably 15 years or better. Their prices sure have risen. Didn't see anything that was a super deal. They only had one of the 2 spindles I needed. Came home and ordered offline. $11 more than Glenn's.

My Quack-o-Practor even told me to get ride of my tri-fold wallet. They put to much pressure on your back while sitting.
What the heck? It wasn't to thick anyways after he got done with me.

Another humorous day in the Miss-Fit garage.
As you may remember from my last posting my grandson broke 2 spindles on the mower.
$189 plus $50 for blades later, it was you breaky you fix it day.
Now my grandson is 22 years old, as strong as an ox, but dumber than a box of rocks. I supervised him, on repairing most of the afternoon, along with giving pointers. I must admit that there was some enjoyment watching him sweat his arz off.
We (he) got the mower back together and he was off to finish mowing. I hadn't even read a page of FHC until he was back in here. Grampa, "I hit a stump and bent the deck into the blade." "Well you know the routine. Bring the mower up to the shop and fix it."
I again plant my arz in the chair and watched him sweat away.
Mower back together and then he said "I think I will let you mow." Not going to happen. You have room and board here and lost your job. You are going to mow."
My wife comes to his defense. "You know he has mental problems?" He has been diagnosed with ADD and a couple of those other ABC problems. His big problem is maturity. He will learn to think before acting or get tired of the results. I am not babying him.
If I get tired of putting money into his carelessness or the mower can't be repaired, I guess the yard will just get over grown.
    Done with my rant.

Visited my Mom today. Bought flowers and a bunch of mulch and added to her flower gardens for her. About two hours of work and then we sat on the porch and enjoyed a soda and a few pieces of candy. We all enjoyed it in the nice weather. Gave the wife a card and a kiss and spent some time with her. And we’ll enjoy that concert together in June.

Went and bought some fencing today and placed it there. But didn’t start putting it up. I needed to cut the grass around the house. And spend some time with the Mothers in my life. A good day. Cold Blue Light beer and cooked us all burgers on the grill. Time to clean up.

Happy Mother’s Day to all you mothers in the FHC!

The lack of fencing have anything to do with yesterdays picture...which might lead to needing to mow more often...in certain localized spots? ;)
