x3, hope you had a Fun 50th Steve!
    :coldone:

Still burning here to take the chill off overnight, with temps getting into the low 40s / 30s overnight: "low & slow" @ 1.0 lb/hr, for the next several days.. Cheaper than burning oil right now.

I did another short burn in the P43 this morning. Temp was in the high 30's and the house was in the mid-60's. Probably no more burning for a couple of days as the daytime temps will be higher (and more sun)

AARP junk mail should be saved up and given to the whole tree burners for fire starting.

Still hear the stove fire up in the AM when the house gets below 60*
Rough week last week but some improvement today finally after 6 weeks of hellacious pain in the shoulder. As my earlier rant stated health care system sucks for those of us who work our azz off and pay into the system. It is critical to be pro-active with medical care which is completely in reverse of what the previous generation was taught and thus taught to us.

I don't remember where I left off and hopefully won't repeat myself too much but heh I'm old and this is what us old people do. :) (Just tried to find last post on this chite failed)
After 2 PT sessions my shoulder was getting progressively worse and it was testing my resolve and mental capacity so I said enough is enough and went to another GP . For some stupid reason my company does not allow sick time and you have to use your PTO , so I lost a week of vacation because of the insurance protocol to being at home and basically not being able to do anything productive.
I don't like the new GP in any way but it was a blessing as she referred me to a orthopedic firm whom I am familiar with as my mother in law has had a lot of work done and they are excellent .
This happened the next day which was great as within 5 minutes they had me in for XRAYS and when the PA came in she performed a series of test, next we reviewed the XRAYS and she told me I had acute tendonitis with calcification as my body had reacted. You could clearly see the calcium deposits and bone spurs which were in turn irritating, inflaming, and possibly damaging my rotator cuff. She then said that she could not do anymore at the time as it was so inflamed she was limited to what more she could do .

But thank the Lord she gave me hope and a Cortisone / Steroid shot in my shoulder joint and told me with most it would take 1-3 days to take effect and relieve some of the pain and reduce the swelling, but also added in some people it can take from 3-7 days. Well not surprisingly today it is day 7 and YES YES I am feeling some relief this afternoon and believe it is a combination of the shot and not performing the intensive PT. I have really been taking it easy which is very difficult but it is what needs to happen for now. Head back next week for the next appointment and am hopeful.

So the one thing I did manage to do was to finally build the Mrs. a new rig. I am so impressed with this build as it cost less than $600 all said and done. Perfect for her use and so dang affordable it is amazing. For the tech heads I'll list it below.

My stove has been off for two days now but tonight it will be on, calling for -5*C. The lake just became ice free yesterday and I was tempted to jump in :loco:  with the air temperature at +24*C.
Good to hear things are looking up for you Luneyburg after suffering for a extended amount of time:yes:

Last year the company I work for went to all PTO that can be used at-will and no sick days. That makes sense for us because previously you could only use PTO if approved at least 1 week in advance. So if you had used all your sick time, then you were SOL if you needed more. Now you can use the PTO however, whenever you want. Also, we have company paid Short Term Disability (I used initials first, then thought better of it  ) so anything past 3 days (with doctor's note of course) is picked up that way.

Glad you found a more competent medical team to work with you on your shoulder and I'm sure that shot was a blessing!

The big thing about that is... now...
most employees no longer have to lie about calling in sick...
We used to have some that as soon as they had built up 8 hours, they mysteriously got ill... for a day..

We have Vacation time and Sick/Personal time. That negates the need to lie and call in sick. I would much rather have someone give me a day or 2 notice for something that isnt vacation or sick time than call out unexpectedly.
