Thanks All for the welcome back!! I'm very very happy to get back to the FHC!
I believe it as well my Friend! We will make it happen. I just made a longer drive of it!

I had some withdrawals, but there was so much happening so fast I couldn't waste any time on DT's. LOL Glad you are here and doing well, savemoney !

I knew you would be Dennis! So glad to hear from you! I hope you and the Ornery One are doing great. I will check in on your GTG thread. I bet it was a blast!
Eric, you're always busy! You can't not be! It's just you. I'll get caught up on your threads as soon as I can as well. Hope all s well for you in Wytheville my friend!

I understand it's a marginal excuse Shawn! It will not happen again.

Thanks for the kind wishes, Locust Post ! It's already worth all of the logistical headaches. It's time to enjoy! :coldone::chef:

Yes sir! There is a fireplace that needs to get yanked out and replaced with an insert in the home we are renting, and trying to purchase. I think it will all work out for the sale. Landlord is great! That's a huge help for sure. Dry wood is going to be the issue for this year. I may have to Hillbilly Kiln a couple pallets worth. It worked in IL, I'd guess it will in GA too. I just don't want to get the cart in front of the horse. Glad to hear from

Thank you Sir! If you ever make it this LONG way down, shoot a PM. I'd like the pleasure of meeting you!

TD you're killing me!

Have a nice afternoon All! It sure does feel nice to be back!!!!!!

    Thank you my friend! :handshake:
That's why we are in the area as well! I'm not embarrassed to say that I'll be fine just burning a fraction of the wood that I used to. lol
Give a shout out if you're ever in the area, and I'll do the same.

I am in Menlo...which is North of Summerville in the NW Ga. mountains...in fact we are only 3/4 of a mile from the Alabama border. You will be much warmer than us being that much farther South...and we are at 1500' altitude. Very peaceful and quiet, which is what we wanted at this stage of life.

Welcome back Pete, good luck on house, I'm sure getting a wood stash built up for that climate will be old hat for you!

    Happy for you Flatlander Pete!

Every year in April usually during a blizzard, wife and I discuss moving south. Mostly because we like four seasons, here it starts snowing Sept and Oct. Our last snow fall was May 1, and we had Frost Saturday morning!!! That makes for a long heating season;)

93 I'd melt!!:jaw: its May.. Hit 90 here 3 times last year for total of 8 hours..

Go ahead get 3 years ahead... You've got til november:D

Congrats on the move. It’s too hot down there man! But there is your opportunity. Get a firewood burning gasification generator to run your A/C!:handshake:

CBVT could become WV(border)VA and really see positive change in farwood consumption here in the Blue Ridge Mtns..... and still enjoy the seasons

Great to hear from you, Pete! Glad things are looking good for you, no need to apologize for not being around, I've been suffering from absenteeism myself lately.

Life has a bad habit of getting in the way, but family matters are more important so sometimes we all need to set priorities.

This place will still be here after the breaks....
