Hello again, Everyone! :salute: Life has officially gotten in the way! There have been many things going on, and for the most part they're all good things. My wife and I have been trying to move south to enjoy the warmer climate for a few years and I got lucky. I was able to get a job, in my field, in Georgia! My wife was able to get a job, in her field, as well. We sold our home and took off for Georgia in a matter of a few weeks. We are now renting a home while looking to buy in the near future on Jackson Lake, near Monticello, GA.
I see several new screen names, and I am very happy to see a lot of familiar ones! I hope everyone is doing well, I've got a lot of catching up to do.
Although I'm making excuses for not staying involved and in touch, I have missed this whole group! Lot's of great people here!! Have a great day!

I try to ck in 2-3 times a day. Without FHC, I think I would go into some sort of DT's withdrawal syndrome.

Hi Pete, I was wondering if you were going to have time for the greenhouse this year. Seems you are working everyday into the evening. Don't know how you find the energy for all of this. My garden will be a bit smaller this year. Last year so much food went to rot. I hated seeing that happen. This year I will fill some of the space with flowers. They brighten things up. I can alway use that. I have a lot of problems getting around, but I won't give up. I have a little cart with a seat on it. It has wheels so I can move along as I want. Doing a little each day can have a huge impact on gardening. Just planted pumpkin seeds for the grandkids. Everything is in the solar space where it stays warm. Will only have 8-10 tomato plants this year. Too many rotted on the vine last year. Mostly, we like string beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, some greens, and summer squash. the rest I can easily get at the farmer's market.
    Stay well my friend
    Larry

 That’s gonna make a nice garden Larry! You can never plant to much! I gave away a lot of veggies last year. It may not get used here but it will help others!

I get an idea in my head and I can’t stop till it’s done.... It’s how the brain is wired. If I can’t sleep no point trying.

We are definatly doing the greenhouse this year! I’ve already started rolling the soil and mixing ash in. The little ryobi battery tiller gets a good workout every year...:emb:

Tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, Bush beans, lots of peppers and squash for sure. We haven’t decided what else yet. I may try to do a vine plant but I haven’t figured out what yet... may even attempt hops again.

Hey Flatlander Pete it's good to have you back, even if you are now in the south. Perhaps you can teach a few folks down there how to talk right?!

Also it sounds like you've hit the jackpot and we are very happy for you.

Hey Pete, you are late this year!

But so far we have not done much; taters, peas and strawberries. I probably will plant some corn late this week. Beans will wait another week I think.

    Absolutely!

I was busy getting my bike ready for work tomorrow, so I was going to comment later.

So are you going to still burn wood? I'd imagine you'd use less wood than when you were a northerner.
