Pot holder gloves work well too - just for further reference if anyone else comes across something like this.

Great job helping out Eric VW !

I managed to get the very feisty mower to run after a good half hour of trying. Decided to do some driveway repair and get rid of the ruts.

Checked several apple trees and just a very few blossoms just starting to show. I'm betting in about 5 more days we'll have lots of blossoms, weather permitting.

Good job Eric. Growing up I used to get robins and blue jays out of blueberry netting with gloves. Blue jays are a handful.

We took a quick trip to a furniture store today. Wood hoarding is in. Artisinal wood I bet. Sticker shock on mattress prices, and pretty much everything else there.

Cool Pete! I'm inspired to do something like that here for our driveway. Not sure what, but my Blaze turns on a dime and we rigged up some chainlink wrapped around a log last year before seeding/laying sod in the back yard. Ruts in driveway are pretty deep but guessing anything will help:)

Thanks bocefus78 for the chainlink suggestion :) !

I successfully hid for the duration of the birthday party. Only emerged from the basement when my wifes friends husband came by. We were talking about my stacks, and he offered up a few freshly dropped oaks and maples from his yard. I'm gonna take all of them, plus another 18" maple still to come down in exchange for bringing the saw and splitter and helping him process the catalpa's for his fire pit.

If you have scrap angle laying around you could drill some holes and stick bolts through it and bolt some fencing behind it so it digs and levels at the same time.

Maybe use a grinder to make the bolts pointy on the tip.

    Like this.

When I lived in Maine, we used an old steel matress/ frame and put cinder blocks on it. Towed it behind the bronco 2. It worked well on that 1/2 mile gravel driveway.

    Dang this insomnia!

Been up for over two hours already. I'm about ready to put the coffee on.

Got some pics of the ice this past weekend that I'll put up. It started to honeycomb, so it shouldn't be long at all until we have nothing but water.
