Looks like those of you who are finally getting the %&¥$ out of winter now can enjoy the lawn being mowed and moving around. Wood chores and removal of the winter junk/catch all is in full swing. Really nice day out today. I spent some time trying to move my pit wood to another skid to gain room for other things. Daughter woke up about 3-4 times when she was supposed to be napping so wrestled that one a little bit but her smile sure did something.

Stacked up the last of my cedar as well as my recent alder run on Thursday morning. Plan on chipping at the cedar for kindling, splits so well being straight grained. C27E494F-EE0C-4DB9-A7C4-E1CA40AE6538.jpeg
This pile is destined for the dump, local area disposal is having a free dump weekend so I hope to take this tomorrow then have some other stuff taken care of as well.

Nice to finally manage this place a bit after its been soggy last week. Going close to 80 soon and then it’ll kinda dip in and out within 20° typical spring weather. Happy to do work outside, how about you fellas and fillies out there?

CE3D28F7-B6A7-48C1-BA4A-0369C172B6FE.jpeg With plenty of other on going projects in the air. Today I need to get a pile of splits moved for an impending grapple delivery. Those pallets were empty this morning.
I have gotten black flies in every open oriface several times.
I’m tried and overloaded the trailer for the last load, blew a tire!

    Beer time!

Haha don’t we all? I love to do manual labor with direction but often end up making messes in the process as well.

And now I suddenly feel like I didn't accomplish anything with the firewood work I did today.

I decided I wasn't touching any firewood today. Worked up about 2 1/2 cords in five days this week.

Six of those rounds filled the truck.

Couldn't fit any more pieces in the truck... At least without it hitting the windows.

When you’re that far ahead it’s good to take a break and know you sit pretty well. Was this wood taken down at your place ?

Sound to me like you should take a break and go to Well Seasoned's GTG in June. :D

I'm on the three year plan.....if I plan to burn 2.66 cords this year, 1.5 next year, and .7 in 21-22. Looks like I need to get to work.

You think? lol I have a good oak stash between a 20" white oak blow down from last fall in the woods behind my house, and then a couple more oaks that dominoed in the concrete snow storm. Those are right next to the access road to my neighborhood. Been waiting on those while concentrating on this year.

Plenty of ash lately as they are dropping all the EAB kills near the powerlines. Gonna be a LONG summer for me though, but I need to kick azz this summer and get with the 3 year plan.

After my stacking session yesterday I pulled a tick of myself and my son. Heads up they are out.

Pulled one off the dog last week. Daughter and a few friends took a shortcut through the woods 3 weeks ago and one of them found 3 on him when he got home.

Time to start soaking the work clothes in permethrin.
