I have not seen a forum state that it was closed during high traffic hours. They might go down in the middle of the night to upgrade software. Which might be what is going on. Doesn't seem hacked at the moment.

Seems back now, kinda. Earlier it was redirecting me to one of those ad sites like you get when you botch a URL.

I get the same thing. Every day for 2 days now. Closed during these hours??

I used to love there Classifieds. Helped me buy and sell over a dozen saws.

But, I can't take all the problems. :(

I feel for that community over there. I have no idea why they are being targeted so heavily. You would think there would be some kind of help available as I am sure that by now the issues have wreaked havoc with their business.

In late August Internet Brands, the company behind vBulletin, issued a warningto all customers running versions 4.x and 5.x of its software, that they needed to remove two directories ( "/install" and "/core/install") on sites using the system or they would leave themselves open to an unspecified attack.

It seems that many customers didn't listen, and security company Imperva has revealed that over 35,000 websites running vBulletin have been hacked using this vulnerability.

    http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/5...cked-vbulletin-vulnerability-cms-software.htm

apparently they hide code that allows themselves back in that is difficult to find.

I quit trying to log in over there and deleted my bookmark. It has been going on for at least a month, maybe longer.

At this point I am surprised that they have not jumped ship to a different forum software. I'm sure it would be a bumpy conversion but anything has to be better than losing members and agonizing over keeping the hackers out.

I am sad it's been down because I use that site for information gathering so I don't seem like such a noob.

Just checked and it didn't work for me, so I put the link in the trash and I am officially done with AS. Sucks, but I don't know what else to do at this point.

If they got clipped by what I think they did, or what is listed above. There is no choice but to start over again brand new, all previous items there are infected. I started counting the number of file ext. it attacks gave up when I got past 30. A totally different forum got hit several monthes back about the same way. had to to a complete fresh restart, they are still cleaning files to try and save some past information.

The site no longer exists if you google it. They must be starting fresh.

That must be a massive undertaking for them.

    That's not good.

I don't even understand why anyone would want to cause so much problems for someone? Don't they have anything better to do??
