Dont do it on the truck. You made it this long without one. Look at all the fun you will be missing!

Not buying brand new. If I did that, it would be about a $60,000-$70,000 loan I would be looking at.

I'm looking in the $20K-$30K range. And for a diesel to get into that range, they are older, but still decent mileage. I could spend $12K, but then the truck has 200,000 on the odometer already.

We bought new cars 3 years ago. But those were not financed. They are our daily drivers for work. Matching cars :) Just different color.

Oh and I will always have fun. I would never completely eliminate "Fun money". :)

    Hmmmmmmm, we're closing in here!

Mad money, I'd almost forgotten what that stuff was! I know that feeling exactly though, just dropped a load on a new Subaru Outback, started paying for a daughter in college, with a second one following 5 years behind her. I might see some mad money for a new CAD saw around 2023!

My days are numbered for awhile myself. I want a new (used) truck. My son will need a vehicle (I'm only paying half, he has quite a bit saved already) in just a couple years, then he will be off to college, Then......... My daughter (nuff said) She will be 3 in May. But she has to grow up as well. Already looking at ATV's for her. Should have kept one of the small ones my son had. :(

That kind of budget should land a nice LLY ('05-'06 ?) DirtyMax in the driveway. Not as much bling as a Ford but it sure will make you grin when you throw the pedal down. :D Nice, comfortable driving trucks too.

Mtronic... Great... how long till a person needs $$$$ scan tools to fix a saw like cars are now?!

As with anything "new" I'll give it some years and let others be the ginea pigs

It's already been out for several years. Husqvarna has had it a little longer (AutoTune)

Lots of advantages to it. They start SUPER easy (even at ridiculously low temps), get better fuel economy, always run at peak power, and will try and save the saw in the event of an air leak (will run rich).

Still has the 241C, 261C, 362C, 441C, and 661C (on recall right now)

Husq has a 540xp (top handle), 545, 550xp, 555, 562xp, and 576xp. May have missed some, there is a 560xp outside the U.S.. Also, Jonsered has every Husq equivalent (2253, 2260, etc).

Lots of AutoTune users out there. Getting great reviews. The 50 cc market is gaining lots of ground with the AutoTune crowd.

I have tomorrow off, so weather permitting, I should get some decent run time on the new MS ___C ;)

I had to google what it was and Stihl website made it sound like it was just coming out.

How can it "tune"? It have an o2 sensor and a computer?

It makes minute changes to the carburetor adjustment "screws" and watches for changes in engine RPM to determine if it is too lean/rich. It's also proven to be modification friendly.

Basically it's a smart ignition coil and the carburetor adjustment screws have been replaced with high-speed solenoids.

Would just take a few lines of code to have it shut off when it determines fuel use exceeds operating parameters (like if you do a muffler mod)
