I was gonna say he should pay you for the cleanup! But if it is all pulled out in a convenient pile then maybe $10-20 per cord...and a case of cold beverage to him...that'd be about my limit for wood I hafta cut/load/split etc etc etc
If your only other option is triaxle loads and the tops are pulled out with easy access I would probably go as high as 20.00 an 8 ft pickup load stacked full so that would be about 40/cord.
Having the wood skidded out so you can pull up with your truck, cut it and load it makes it worth more $$$. I think that $40 a cord would be reasonable. My cousins skidded tops out after their woods were logged 30 years ago and sold it quickly at $20 a pick up load back then.
My neighbor down the road called me and said he had his woods logged and was just trying to get it cleaned up and I could have all I wanted for free. He had the loggers drag tops out for half a day and there was plenty in the woods to but that wood was hard to get. I got 12 pickup loads and called uncle, but plan on going back later after I take a break. By the way, he called several others he knew and nobody showed up. Natural gas is pretty cheap and I guess in this part of the country people are on the lazy side too, haha!!! It was ash, white and red oak and some hickory.
I would just offer to split the wood 50/50 CSS. Twice the fun for half the wood. Both win. If he doesn't burn wood he can sell it and make his $$$.
