I recently got a new pair of Stihl chaps and I am having a problem cinching them up. The buckle on the strap around the waist is almost in the back. What is the secret to keeping them up short of using suspenders with them? Yup, I know, stupid question, but maybe I am not the only one who has run into this before.
Seriously though, can you put them on backwards or sideways, and cinch them up while around your waist then swing them around to the front and drop em to your hips? I know I’ve done that with something before but can’t remember if it was a set of chaps...
The chaps I got from Labonville, has the waist buckle in the back. I just buckle it in the front of me, and spin the chaps on my waist. Then go about strapping up the leggings.
My Husqvarna chaps clip on the side but just a shade toward the back and it is hard to get two hands to the side so I clip more to the front then slide around before clipping the legs.
Thanks all for your suggestions. The chaps I bought do not have the straps around the legs, just the one waist strap.
That’s why I don’t like chaps. I have a lot of invasive multi flora rose on my property and the buckles are always getting caught in that stuff or twigs and branches when I’m moving around in the woods. Now I have a pair of the full chainsaw pants from Husqvarna which I prefer. The chainsaw protection also fully wraps the calf. They’re a bit hot in the summertime and the button wasn’t sewn on all that great. Luckily they provide several extras and my sister is great at sewing. I think she opened up the button eye a little more too to make it easier to cinch.
