Thermometer on the back porch says 65F right now. Thermometer in the “big city” said 72F when we went by a little earlier. No heat demand this afternoon.

I think we hit 60s today. 70 where I was in Waltham for work. My pine load from 0500 is still cooking. :D Welcome to the Berkshires, spring!

Added a lilac trunk, big ugly apple crotch, and some more pine for overnight. The lilac smells great when burning - I scored most of a level truck bed of it a couple years ago from a landscaper connection. Gave most of it to my grandparents for their open fireplace, but I still stumble across a bit now and then. One of these days I'll be brave enough to smoke some fish over it.

Mid 50's here and sprinkles. Cooler tomorrow and after some showers we may have to have a small fire to take the chill off, but not right now. Fire's been out for a while and it seems good.

    Yep. It does to me!

Lilac wood will smell faintly of lilacs when cut and/or split, too. Some of it has very pretty purple patterns inside, which you'll usually see as a ring on a fresh cut round.

Wowzers warm temps here now, +13 C or 55 F, and going higher yet! Seems most nights are hanging pretty close to the freeze/thaw range for the next while so not done burning quite yet.

My wife said we hit 20c here today! I got home in time to have a beer in the back yard before the sun dropped behind the mountain. I have a top down fire about ready for a spruce reload to keep the chill out of the house. Last time I checked we were at about 8c.

I think we ended up hitting 18 C for sure. I'm not even going to worry about a fire this evening.

Its about 39° here atm gusting winds from the south generally. Got in the mid to high 40s today with winds up to high 40 mph.
It's amazing how much darker it is out in the yard at night now that its not covered in snow and ice.

52 and damp here this morning. A little of the bubbling goo keeping things warm. Rain off and on and will continue throughout the day today and tomorrow as well. I’ve got to put a couple long days in anyway. Kids will have a movie marathon today. They are looking forward to it today. Mom had them all working outside for her yesterday. Yes! They did some nice yard work.

Sitting at 9 C or 49 F this morning. Steady wind might be annoying, but it's helping dry everything up. Snow banks in the yard melted, allowing me to go bullet mining!

Today might be the day the last of the snow and ice are around. Now I have to wait until the ground dries and firms up some.
