Not a glamorous job but it needs doing if I want to get my pole barn built this year. I have to move the stacks on the left onto the pallets on the right. The barn will either be located basically right where those pallets are sitting, or in line with the existing garage; and in either case that whole area will probably need to be re-graded anyway. Around 3 cords total, got one of them done tonight after work. Once those 2 pallets are freed up I can relocate them and start working on the overflow hoard which also needs to go.
It will be worth it once that space is opened up and you're able to grade and build. It sucks moving split wood other than into the fire!
I'd take you up on that offer. But, could you turn it into an end table, cutting board, or any other of your crafts before you send it along through the UPS truck please?
Had another beautiful evening here for some more stacking. Almost there - ought to be able to finish up tomorrow. They’re calling for rain and snow again this weekend though.

You suck... Oh well I’ve got some black walnut in the wood shop I can play with. Thanks! Yeah I got tired of broken junk pallets so I started making my own. I use black locust 4x4s for the skids and 2” pine for the decking. This will be my first attempt at moving them though... Tried lifting the corner of one tonight and it’s a little heavy.
Snow overnight.....rain tomorrow for here. Maybe they won't put the plows out with the rain coming....I'll find out by 5:00.
I feel your pain! I ordered 3) 4'x12'x8' pre made wood storage racks from the Hancock,MD FFA Students.....they will be built sometime in September or October. I will have to throw 4.5 cords onto a pile....set the racks in n then restack all the wood plus some....ugh!
Thanks Dennis! Actually I’ve been a bit lazy lately - think I was going thru some extended winter blues. Since your GTG I’m finally getting my rear in gear. Finished up the re-stacking tonight, and still had some daylight left to get started on some cutting and splitting. That was the crooked black locust log that was laying in front of the pallets. Stepped over that thing for the last time. It did a number on my freshly sharpened chain though.
That's a lotta work to do Shawn Curry , it's good that you are doing it now before it gets too hot. Looking forward to the barn building.
