Found a dry spot on top of a hill so I’m cutting today. I wound up with about a 1/3 cord left this year so it’s time to get cutting. Started on this cherry about 12-15” or so. More pics later
Yea it is. It’s been kind of cool here lately . Lows in the 30’s( that’s cold here this time of year)
You from Kenosha? I went to a class a few years ago in Denver with a guy from Kenosha. I still talk to him. Really nice guy. He said y’all had a few inches on the way
Tried out my uncles 460 rancher 20” he just got on the trunk and made quick work of It. This may be my next saw!
Looks like it had some kind of bonus vine growing up it. Cherry tops will keep you busy, both cutting and trying to split some of the crooked parts.
Is that some old hay bales there or maybe an old manure pile? Really looks odd to see all those leaves on the trees and we don't even have any green grass yet. In fact we can't even see the grass here. It's white.
Ha I guess that’s the difference in a Mississippi April and a Michigan April. It was low 40’s this morning and it’s now 81
That's a nice looking stack of cherry... I tend to split a bit larger for my overnight hardwoods like oak or hickory, but I think for cherry that's the perfect size. Should dry in short order for you too.... Did you jam something into those cinder blocks to keep the 2 X 4's going straight up on the ends? I like it, let me know what you did.. Thanks Mark
You can see there's wood blocks in the cinder blocks keeping the uprights, upright. Zoom in on the block on the right. Sent from my SM-T280 using Tapatalk
