Sending healing thoughts your way. How soon could you have another cortisone shot?

Prayer works. Not hurting quite so bad this morning. Hopefully the pain will stay down and I can once again stop so much pain medicine. Percocet works wonders sometimes when it is needed but best to get off as soon as possible.

I think it will be June or July before I could get another shot.

Thanks milleo. I'm a bit better but a long ways from where I'd like to be. Still can't do much. I tried getting out on the atv this morning as we had surveyors here and I needed to talk to them. I quickly put it back in the shed though.

Darn it Dennis, rest and recuperate doesn't mean "Be all you can be" Rest= in the house off your feet. Catch up on some reading. Get better soon. Company is coming!

Sound advice savemoney , there will be plenty of able men at Backwoods Savage soon that will likely be arguing about who gets to do which every task needs to be done. :) Do your best to sit tight and heal Dennis.

Hey, sitting tight just don't match my style if at all possible. I can't do as much as I used to but do want to do my share. I really hate it when someone else has to do the work I should be able to do. Not sure what will happen when I get old...

Dennis, I feel your pain my friend. But I haven’t had a cortisone shot in several years. Partly because they actually made me worse, but also because I decided to try the natural route, with my doctor’s guidance of course, and I wish I had done it much sooner. Have you ever considered it? I use many things, essential oils, many different herbs, and homeopathy. It all works, some better than others, and at different times. It takes awhile to figure out what works best for you. But there are a few things that are universal. Homeopathy is like that. It’s completely harmless so you don’t have to worry about drug interactions or anything like that. Two that I can highly recommend are Hypericum Perforatum and Arnica Montana if you want to try it. Here’s the links to what I buy and use.
This is specifically for nerve pain. You only take 5 little tiny sugar pills 3 times a day.

This one is awesome for soreness from overdoing it, and it heals bruising really fast.

    Same dosage on this one.
With either you should only take it for a few days then take a little break for a couple days.
I know not everyone is into the natural approach, but this really works for me. It’s not a cure, but it allows me to do things I couldn’t otherwise. I pray it will help you as well if you’re willing to try.
I’ll be happy to get more information on these things if you’re interested.
Have fun and don’t hurt yourself!

    Thanks Maina

You may or may not know but I've fought this pain thing most of my life (comes after polio and I had that back in 1947) but it got much, much worse in 1984 when I had a little accident that ruined the rest of my working career. It has been a long battle and sometimes I feel as though I'm winning and sometimes as though I'm losing. I take it day by day and yes, I've tried many, many things over the years and will continue fighting.

Fortunately I held up this weekend during our GTG but for sure could never have done it without percocet and some other things. Hate having to take things like this but will if need be. It gets me through and allows me to do more. Yes, sometimes in the long run it does some harm because perhaps I then overdo it with the help of the painkillers but to me it is worth it. Can you imagine hosting a gtg and not being able to do anything? No, not me.

I didn’t know you had polio at a young age, sorry to hear that. Intractable pain definitely adds to the challenges of life in a big way. I’m fortunate that I’ve only been fighting my battle with it for about 15 years now. But life goes on and we all have things we need to do no matter what. Finding a way can be difficult but with determination we get it done! A nice weekend like you just had helps, doesn’t it? Good friends and good times soothe the body and the soul.

Oh yes. We had a grand time this weekend.

Yes, the polio is what caused most of the pain I endure and there just is nothing that can be done for that, or so they tell me. So I do my best to keep smiling and do what I can.

Wow folks at my office have had tough breaks the past few weeks. Three guys lost their mothers. One is a younger man who is dealing with it while attending the police academy.
A nurse has an infant grandson at a children’s hospital, who nearly died and may be blind from lack of oxygen.
Now a support staff lost her son to suicide.
Prayers for comfort and peace are deeply appreciative.

I wasn't gonna do this. This is very hard for me to accept this. I'm not quite there yet, but I know it's going to happen. There is nothing I can do to fix this. That is frustrating, and that fact makes me angry. I need to work this out before the fact, before the event.
My Mother will pass before June arrives, the way things are going.
She's been battling Pancreatic Cancer for over 4 years, but it spread to her stomach. A few weeks ago, we had a meeting and she made the decision to not pursue anymore chemo. treatments. Nature will take it's course. She is tired, she deserves her rest. We support her , but I hate that.

If you have the room, please pray for a smooth passing for my Mother. Thank you. John Beretta.
