I would have been beside myself for what to do. Lets hope one of them has established their dominance and the other respects that. I trust they are both fixed. I had a couple of small dogs who got into it a few times. One was clearly picking on the other. The other got sick of it and stood her ground one day. After that, no more spatting. Not the knock down drag out fight you described, but it was about all these two senior ladies could do. Both rescues. Do you think you might want to muzzle them when you allow them to get together again?

We got a few pets and some working animals too.

The cat, Thomas is a pet...he goes "Toming" all night, but is a great pet cat. No mousing, but he has never soiled on the carpet, has no litter box and knows when to go out. The strangest thing about him is, if he can see the bottom of his food dish...even if it is just a spot half an inch in diameter, he sits and waits for someone to feed him. He never whines, just waits by sitting. So we stir his food and he eats...

The bunny, she has had more names; so not remembering them, we just call her bunny. She hates the vacuum and Styx screaming off YouTube, but is coming to terms with me. If Bunny cannot tolerate Styx, she'll have to go outside. She has no hutch, just a box with sawdust, yet never leaves her 3 x 3 foot area...ever! No soiling on the floor, but gets BELIGERENT when she runs out of water, man that bunny has a temper.

Our Gold Fish is actually fat and fun...for a fish. His name is Bub...short for bubbles.

Our dog Duchess is a working dog. She is a Great Pyrenees and NEVER comes in the house. 100 degrees to -20 below, she is out with the sheep. She would not want life any other way. Some have complained, but I beg to differ, her "kennel" is 37 acres and defends it well. She has killed 2 fox and chased away 2 coyotes. She loves Katie, is decent around me, tolerates the kids and HATES anyone else. We have signs up all over the pasture; Stop, Livestock Guard Dog. Her size will surprise anyone, she can move QUICK. We told the girls, if anyone threatens you, get in the barn or into the pasture as our dog would shred any strangers.

All the sheep are working sheep. I love sheep, take the best care of them that I can, BUT they serve a purpose and provide for us. None are pets and have similar names, Number 678, Number 679, Number 680...

LodgedTree Are your kids involved in 4H? You have the animals they could help raise and show them at the local fair.

No, but we sell a lot of our lambs to other 4H'ers. Sadly there is not a Sheep 4H club here.

I let Fuzzy outside the other night after getting home from work (I have a pen so the cats don't wander the neighborhood but do get to enjoy outdoors if they want). I was chilling on the couch and heard a cat yowling (not really yowling, but complaining loudly). Since Rita was with me on the couch, I knew it was Fuzzy. Figured another cat had entered the yard or something so went to see what the fuss was about. He was sitting at the door waiting to be let in. I did so, and then he stood by the dishwasher cart and continued to make the same noise.

He kept putting his head down to the floor, then lifting it. My brain finally sifted thru the cat speak dictionary and realized he must have a mouse in his mouth. I went to him and touched his head, when he looked at me - sure enough there was a tail sticking out of one side. I told him he was a good kitty and that he better not put it down unless it was dead :)
He immediately laid it on the floor for me to inspect my present. Sure enough, it had passed :dex: so I got a paper towel and accepted the gift. Took it away then came back and praised him effusively. He was well pleased with himself and decided to take a nap after his 20 minutes of exertion for the day

Our cats did the same thing as far as bringing mice back to the house they had caught. They would make a racket by the back door and after we saw what they brought and praised them for their good hunting, they would proceed to eat them.

Anyone with experience with the SERESTO collar. It says it is good for 8 months. I ordered two from 800 petmeds. I was concerned about some reviews on Amazon. Some were pleased, then not so with the next purchase. Suggestive of maybe some fake collars in their supply. That is why I went to the other seller.

We put them on our three dogs last year and they seemed to work out well. I reordered them again last month and noticed there was a difference in the look. Last year they had a smoother and shinier surface. These have a more dull finish more lie the traditional collars that have powder in the plastic mix. I don’t know if it’s a manufacturing change or if I had gotten something not as good in the first or this shipment. They were ordered through Amazon.

If it was me, I would call the company and ask about the changes. Some of those comments in the Amazon reviews caused me to be reluctant to purchase from the collars from them for fear of getting a copy cat product that might not work or potentially be harmful. the site I did buy from didn't have comments suggesting a problem. I don't want to insinuate that Amazon might be selling counterfeit products, but that is what some comments suggested. I'll just let it go as I got a better deal on the other web site.

The other difference was that this year's collar had reflective buttons that you could attach to the collar. I’m going to check out other reviews on Amazon and 1 800 Pet Meds.

How durable were they and how was the attachment, any chance the dog could loose it...maybe crashing through the brush. Do you have to keep the collar on the dog all the time?...or just when they are outdoors, mine are never collared in the house.

It’s been 1 year since this little Bandit stole our hearts! He’s such a character, totally lives up to his name!
