Cold weather seems to have finally taken a break now.:dex: -4 C or 25 F, and a bit of wind on top. Still below normal, but the forecast shows way better weather than we've been having. Should make it a few degrees above freezing today. Poplar, ash, and cherry feeding the machine.

Snow just stopped. No doubt we'll get more later though.

Out of power from 4:00 this morning until after noon. Ground is all white again. Windy, so we'll keep the generator handy.

Yes, she's been a long winter here. Now if the 2 feet of snow could melt, and the wind would stop, it would be great.  About another week and we should be pegging absolutely normal temps around here. It's really strange to keep the fire going non stop right into April as well. Sure saved on firestarters though.

    Cute, eh?
We had a decent day down here on the border. Started out sunny and warm, but by ten the cloud cover moved over us, and the temp dropped all day. Now it's raining. I got a fair amount done outside, building a new maple stack.

Snowing here down to 19 I’m so glad I put up more wood than I think I need. I can’t believe I’ve been burning nonstop since November now.

I propose a new season which is a combo of winter hanging on and little to no spring. We can call it "Sprinter" or "Wing".
