They talk about more than a thousand chains?

I've sharpened a couple dozen chains with it and nothing changed on the grinding wheel. I'm nothing but a casual firewood cutter.

It was used when I got it, and I've probably run 100 chains through it so far...
Not looking forward to replacing it from the price I'm seeing on the 8" wheels...

Try cleaning the wheel . You can get the cleaning stone from Diamond wheel inc for sure , probably other places as well .
Also, if you haven't done so , turn the wheel over to use the opposite side .

I would thing the gum erasers you can get from places like Grizzlies for cleaning sanding belts will work also.

My cleaning stone that came with my CBN wheel from Diamond is snow white - soft aluminum oxide. It does not give me the impression that there is any rubber in it?

I lost the dressing stone that came with my grinder and haven't been able to find another one. What are they made out of?
Wheels for my grinder are about 20$. I've done probably 300 chains on it and the wheel still looks new.
