Looks to me like some crappy welds on the top of the bucket and once that failed the rest opened up like a tin can. Should be fixable if it isn't new enough to be under warranty.

Mahindra tractor. Tractor built out of country, loader and backhoe built right here in the USA.

Can't even blame India then. I would try to get them give me a new bucket and beef it up before I used it.

I’ll have to look at warranty for attachments tomorrow. But I think they are only covered for a year. I sent an e-mail to Mahindra reps with the picture. But I don’t have time to wait for a new bucket. This never happened to my Kubota buckets, or my Bobcat buckets, or my John Deere buckets. Just sayin. Time for me to

That should be a pretty easy fix if you can weld but if they don't make that right make a youtube video and email them the link.

Those “prongs” or teeth are suppose to be like that. Look at top of bucket in the back to see steel ripped apart. All strength in bucket now gone.

Just that work though. I always have other work I can do. Not a biggy. I hope they will replace bucket, but I doubt it.

Looks like tack or incomplete beads as well as little to no penetration of bead/cold weld. Get it ground down, back in place and good root passes, should be good to go.

First I told my neighbor to hold on. Then brought the bucket to The Wood Chop Shop and showed it to them. They are going to see if they will allow it to be covered under warranty. He is going to get back to me. They have to have that broken bucket turned in if they cover it. So I will wait and see. Let’s hope it doesn’t take too long.

My neighbor said it should not have done that. And I agree with him. Let’s hope they do as well. If not. Time to repair it and get back at it.

So it has been submitted under warranty, but before they can order a new one they have to wait for approval of warranty. This could take up to two weeks. Let’s hope it doesn’t take that long. Then they have to order the bucket and it generally takes about a week for it to come in. Time to get some different types of work done with the loader/bucket/grapple.

If it gets warrantied, the new bucket may be of the same welding concerns/issues. You will then need to have your neighbor look it over and then it is decision time. Do you use it as is and hope to warranty another one, or grind paint and some welds, reweld and possibly gusset/strengthen certain areas. That will be a decision you have to make because obviously if you rework/rebuild it, good, bad or indifferent, it is yours, you removed the warranty.

If they cover it under warranty find out what they’re doing with the old one. It will be most likely scrapped locally. You may be able to get it from the dealer and fix it and use it as your abuse bucket.
And not destroy the new one.

Look at the top of the bucket (below the red paint). See the solid square tube? See the "ears" of the bucket to the left of the square tube? The "ears" of the bucket should be covering the square tube. They should be permanently welded together. See the "tear" on the steel, much like peeling a banana, well it shouldn't be that way, when the welds broke connecting the ears to the tube, it allowed it to start the tear. Clear as mud????????? (If you understand this, I did not try to speak womanspeak, and if I did, please don't tell my wife I am capable of this!)
