What's up today (bullchiting) thread.

Just got home and we have a brown out. At least a few lights work as they should. Hopefully the power company is as quick to dispatch a line crew as they were to call me back.

 

1 hour from phone call to finish. I wish I could get my service techs to have this kind of response!

Good thing I checked the outage map and saw nothing rather than just sitting waiting for the problem to be fixes.lkke my neighbors apparently were doing.

 

Monin all... ... got snow. It melted. More melting this week. Better start warmin' up for good around heeya... my honey's head is splodin' from all of our friend's pics from Florida...

 

Well, to be fair to your neighbors (whom I know totally zero about), since I have a smart meter I assume the power company knows if I have a brown out or power failure so I don't call either unless I appear to be the only house in the area with that issue.

 

I have a smart meter. One of the phases of power was out, so some lights oir outlets worked, others didn't. I was thinking it was an internal problem on my house until I noticed that my neighbors flood lights were very dim. That's when I looked on the outage map and put in a service request.

They found a loose connection a few poles down from me.

 

I had one leg drop completely at the house here a few years back. The old aluminum line from the meter to the circuit panel just had a little too much corrosion in it and it failed. Self fix.

 

99 lbs had to get her "casino" on yesterday. It was a short visit and she ended up with over 60 to the good.

Then, we did a little shopping and I did something really bad.

I ate at a fast food joint. It had been probably close to two months since the last time I did that....man oh man, did I feel lousy! If anyone out there hasn't eaten at one of those places for a few weeks and gets a taste for it, eat something else and do not cave in!!!

Yep... greasy food feels like I ate a porcupine... quills first...

 

I haven't ate fast food in just about the same amount of time. I've cut out almost all processed foods in general, I'm pretty sure I'd want to throw up if I ate that.

I over did it a bit on Easter just eating normal foods and I felt terrible.

 

Got a light splattering of white mud overnight. Not too often that we get snow in April here. Supposed to be in the 70's by the end of the week.

Road trip to ATL tomorrow then work this Sunday....but that's the last weekend and trip I have scheduled right now. I don't see much more weekend work and not a lot of travel in my future.

 

So far, so good. Mom is on the mend but now she doesn't have much of a voice. campinspecter is still coughing and sneezing but doing better.

Gorgeous warm morning this morning on my walk. Got to mentally prepare for a full week of work. What with Easter and Spring Break, it has been pretty easy around here. Three months to go before Summer Holidays!

 

I got a little maple this AM, and some birch on Saturday, but no time to process it, just been dumping everything under the big pine tree out front. My mom is still alive, but barely, so I've been putting in a lot of hours at the nursing home. I want to make sure she gets her morphine. She looks comfortable, but if it was me, and morphine was on the menu, I'd want it.
In the meantime, the mini-split is being installed today and tomorrow at our house. Just about everything in the garage is now in the driveway, and various areas inside the house have been cleared out as well.
So, I'm just trying to go with the flow.

 

Working in and around the house and barn today. Have to make a run into town for some diesel fuel for the tractor and pay a bill. You Firewood Hoarders have a safe and fun day.
