    I get why...it's a trend, and numerous folks yhith that a real fireplace or stove is too much work, cost, effort...but these are going to look just as silly as the molded translucent plastic log and coals that had the rotating plastic drum and lights from the sixties that our parents had in those awful orange metal fireplaces.

    My great grandmother had one of them... as a real young kid I thought it was fascinating and got scolded numerous times for try to see how it worked...:whistle: :rofl: :lol:

    Not sure if this is better or worse than the "wood burning yule log" tv channel. Basically the same visual but on your tv. HOW FUN!

    Also, a local fireplace dealer's website always comes to mind when I see things like this. Their description of some of their gas fireplaces basically says "almost as good as the real thing." That's a sales pitch that sticks with me.

    I have the DVD Yule log and you can switch between a crackling fire or Christmas carols for sound!
