Industrial wood rack

I was trying out my stick welding after 30 years (welderdave your job is safe) and built this large wood rack. 94"×51"×94", a pole for an antenna will attach to this too. Going to pick up some expanded metal for the bottom.

Maybe a diagnal member across whatever you choose to be the back side will help keep rack from wracking and hold it square

 

Yes also wondering about if it needs more pipe at each vertical upright at the bottom?

A little more work, expanded is just laying there.

 

Very nice. How much do you think it will hold?

 

A little short of two cords + a wind block/antenna anchor for the shop stereo. I don't think I'd want to stack almost 8 feet tall.

And the finishing pieces, it was 36 when I went to the shop and now it's 77. I don't like stacking wood its always looks untidy. This is almost two trailer loads of Oak, I have a bit more to stack. All the expanded metal should have been install on the inside in hindsight.

 

Looks pretty tidy to me! Nice rack. 22 of those would be enough for me to get on the three year plan. Are you busy for the next few days? I'll keep ya full of beer and pizza..

 

I'll add some stubby legs to the middle section someday.
