Actually in this case a public defender is probably best, they have unlimited access to testing, expert witnesses etc. I seen a program on this and the perception of public defenders is very wrong. Public defenders have access to things the average person can not afford and the average lawyer can not do.

IMHO this really shouldn’t be discussed in a public forum... It is tempting to do so to garner some public support but the risk of inadvertently providing information is too high... Let the justice system work and have faith that justice will prevail. Again, just my opinion. Good luck Adam and good luck to Chad.

Does Iowa not have a stand your ground law? Castle doctrine? Was he in his home?

I can see your point, I don't necessarily agree.

Not trying to start an argument over it either. :)

I just looked. Iowa has a stand your ground law. Here is the first case of a man released after he killed another. Man freed by Iowa's 'Stand Your Ground' law

My point to this is that this is good news. There Has been precedent set using a law designed to protect people in these type situations. Justice should prevail is he was attacked and he chose to fight back and not either take the consequences of knife wounds. Means he does not legally have to turn around and run, he can legally fight for his life.

Grizzly I truly am troubled and pained to read about cases like this. Its a sad situation for everyone involved. I will be thinking of your family and keeping yall in my prayers.

stuckinthemuck has the comment you may want to strongly consider. Any public communications will be gone over and twisted into whatever advantage that can come from it. Courts have repeatedly allowed FB comments into evidence.

So sorry to read about your brother, Adam... Grizzly Adam... your support will mean a lot to him going forward. Hope it all gets sorted out sooner than later. I agree with stuckinthemuck ... might be good to refrain from any public comments until it's all settled. Good luck.
