Pretty pumped over my "new" 2005 3500 Silverado After finishing shoulder rehab, I'm ready to C/S/S some wood if it would just dry up...and BTW...I got a deal I could not refuse...
You won't find much looking that good for that age around here. The salt eats most everything up. Nice clean truck. I hope it serves you well for many years to come.
Details, details... Nice ride. Should be able to haul and tow cords of wood in that thing! And no rust, are you kidding me!
Thanks to all-came about through one of my best friends father, who just turned 80, a very fit and devout Chevy devotee-I had told his son when he got it that if he decides he wants to sell, I would like a shot...Fast forward-I had on Sunday past located pretty good tires and rims for my old '96, was gonna upgrade til the right deal came along...Sunday eve the seller showed up and made me an offer that was at least 6K lower than I expected...It is a 6.0, low miles and with new rocker panels, cab corners, 4 new shocks, BFG Mud Terrains, new steering column complete with bearings and bushings....New bumpers front and rear-I could not be happier-interior is near perfect...Lowest price I could find nationwide on CList, Ebay, etc was 12-13K...my lips are sealed...I am 3rd owner and know the 1st...he didnt hurt it, and my best friends dad babied it as the 2nd...I have the sticker where the 1st bought it in '05 for 37K...came with fresh oil change too-93% left on OC
Its avg 12.7 mpg-"uninformed" friends are like "that gas mileage will suck"...Here's the deal-my 1500 gets like 19-20 mpg...I can now haul in one trip, 7 miles away, what took 2 trips in the other...so its a wash. With this HP and capability to access the farm roads, I dont need to pull trailer, the other trailer to pull behind the ATV, etc...1 trip will do what 2 did and I have increased capacity to still pull the trailer and ATV and double the load in 1 trip...The rear springs have 6 leafs...the truck weighs over 9K-I can load the 8' bed with no sag----I'm blessed I waited with old girl and waited for just the right deal...Savvy got grace in Feb, just havent updated my sig...only fair old girl got retired with my best dog...that was her truck...Savvy the Log Dog...I was just the driver-Peace out my brothers
Carrollee's Savannah Smiles-AKC name after my late mother Carroll Lee...All my boxers have that first name Carrollee's...AKA Savvy..."The Log Dog". 21 May 2005- 8 Feb 2018. May she RIP, I refused to let her suffer and thanks to all of you for appreciating her pics over the years...She rests upon the mantle, on cherry hewed of my hands from the farm she cherished to visit-She left this life loved. We spent our last morning patrolling her wood stacks, going on a truck ride which she loved more than any in my 30 yrs with boxers, lived longer than I have ever experienced and found grace and peace held in my arms...I miss her so...I honor her here-Thanks to all again-This is a special place
RIP Savvy She made ya proud, and made you better. Thanks for sharing Ashwatcher, our hearts go out to ya brother
Thank you so much friends Eric VW and leoht and to all others who make this place feel like home-I want to research "headache racks"...aka rear window protectors for the "new" truck that wont obscure the FHC sticker I am ordering for the back glass along with my yet to be decided on flying WV logo...suggestions of manufacturers and styles/pics will be most appreciated...
Yeah, I think I recall you nearing that last ride with Savvy. RIP Savvy Backrack, and other styles are out there. Backrack Original Headache Rack
Thank you Horkn - I appreciate you my friend...Hope we meet someday, maybe chase some whitetails...share a beer...or 2, or 3...Peace and good hoarding to all....
Hey Ashwatcher looks and sounds like you got a great deal on a sweet ride. We used to have a GMC 1500, but that was some time ago. Pedestrian vehicles now. I really could use another truck. Sorry about Savvy, it's never easy.
