Look'in really good there. Nice job done right. Don't rush it and it will reward you for all the years you want it to. Best thing is you know it is solid and you can trust it to perform the way you intended. Much better than off a lot where you have no idea how dependable it will be.

And you're welding this with a $99.00 HF MIG welder on 120V? Amazing!

No it’s a $699 list price Forney 180 FI Gas / Flux mig on 220V I ran 60 amp service to the garage.

That Forney is a really nice unit. My first mig was a Jobsmart from TSC and it was eah at best then I think it was a 220 HF unit that was really good until it broke. The Forney was a steal I found at Family farm and home on clearance for $499 I think it came with a regulator and all the gas hookups a lot of money spent however it has saved us thousands in stuff around the house.

I used too the black ones are hit and miss, the blue are decent and the new Lineup are down right sexy ... I have used the new multiprocess model and really like it! That said I’d probably stick with Forney I am sold 100%. They used to be the go to until Miller and Hobart ramped up. My Forney is made in Italy and it’s high quality.

Friend of mine has a Hobart 180 Handler, similar to yours. He hard-wired a standard 100' 12ga yellow extension cord to his panel on a 20 amp 220v breaker and powered his for years all over his shop.

I cut metal with the grinder and a wheel all the time...just mark a line and follow it, can make very straight cuts that way...never tried using a piece of scrap to start the cut.
Just what I was gonna say!

I picked up the habit t work. I am in the service dept so not a ton of welding for me however for emergency’s I do some. It’s handy to cut nice and straight for most equipment. Doesn’t happen much but when it does...

Our welders are full time welders on install and among the best stick and tig I’ve ever seen...

The chop saw one I purchased runs MUCH cooler and cleaner plus it does t seem to dull out. I’ve been using that like crazy! So far so good.
