    MM are you using soft maple to look more impressive? So you can get aggressive with the rakers and really pull some chips....?

    Didn't get too many pics.......cold and very windy. Had to climb and top both sides, it was in the power lines and guy wires....

    Softer wood (to a point) can load the saw better and more consistently IMO. Yes, the cuts are faster. But the gains show up better as well. This stuff is clean and as green as it gets too.

    Plus I have access to a chit-ton of this stuff.:thumbs:

    I try to get a few pics from each job Stinny....I meant to get some "after" pics but wanted to get done, had a clean - up to finish from a job we did over the winter so I got sidetracked and forgot.

    I'll be doing two pines this week, I may have my GoPro camera on for that job. They are 60' trees, right smack dab between an house and a powerline.......

    You actually do a whole lot better taking pics while you're working than I did doing sign work. I'd get so caught up in what I was doing, the last thing I'd think of was a camera. I went back to jobs, to get a finish pic, so many times it was nuts.

    The GoPro on site would be awesome… and something to make you grin 20 years from now.

    Do yalls utility companies actually trim trees?? There is no way tree branches wouldbe withing say 6ft of the lines, here!! That way across the whole state. Her you can usually get a utility to at least top those trees you pictured to at least the height of the lines. At a miss immune they will cut one side off and that maps would probably been removed. They do this for free!! Way cheaper than calling out 3 crews of folks off duty to fix a problem when it happens.

    "Do yalls utility companies actually train trees??" … well, I'm sure they'd like to ;), but until then, they hire big tree companies to trim all branches near power lines… :axe:

    Around here there are so damm many trees that trimming right of ways is a never ending job. They went hog-wild a couple years ago and the number of outages has been way down since.

    It is a never ending job. We have trees too!! They have equipment that runs the country ROWs it is self leveling cab and has like a 3ft circle saw blade on a boom that extends it trims the trees up to about 100+ft in the air. The high volt lines have helicopters that fly and they have a v article hanging contraption with like 6 circle blades on it. The cities are contracted to the big companies. It is a never end job.

    They got a bunch of stimulus money to do that around here too. I'll have to remember to thank my great grand kids for paying for it though.

    They just do it around here. Maybe thats why our lower is almost double what most of the country pays?
