Nothing here at 5pm. Forecasted accumulations have been halved. Mother Nature sure is fickle. Sent from my SM-T280 using Tapatalk
Snow is just starting to come down heavy enough to start coating things now at 5:25 PM after light flurries all day not doing much of anything. Rather light winds. So far the storm is a big dud which is fine with me. 5-8" estimate seems to be 3-5" now. If it just didn't come together and strengthen like computer models thought it would - lucky us.
I'd be happy to get up in the morning to find out I gassed up the snowblower for no reason, Sent from my SM-T280 using Tapatalk
8:40pm and there is an inch on the ground. The forecast has been wrong all day, even with the changes. Might wake up to 3 feet.
Tomorrow we'll be around 40 without any snow but until the start of the second week in April, we're not out of the woods yet regarding the heavy wet snow.
No need to use the snowblower here. 2-3in of snow. Just some pushing aside with a shovel. More nuisance and sloppy than anything. Temps in mid-30's. Sent from my SM-T280 using Tapatalk
We had some fog this morning but nothing real bad if you were driving the recliner with a cup of coffee in the other hand.
We just had a big wind gust and then heard a thud so I looked out front in the area we've been clearing but there was nothing down from the wind, I looked back on the southeast side of the house by the outdoor fireplace and we have more shoulder season wood.......mother nature felled a pine. If we get more gust like that then I'll be hooking up the generator. The sun is out and the temp went from 40 to 45, the low for tonight should be around 16 so the winds should get stronger. If the winds don't calm down before it's time to call it a night then we'll go with the furnace. The basement was 80 degrees last I checked so we're burning down some coals but will wait until the wind calms down before the next fire.
We got rocked pretty good yesterday. Started out with about 3.5" of rain, then a line of strong storms moved through yesterday evening. Some pictures of a town just south of here show either a tornado or micorbust made its way through. Semi trailer flipped over, trees down, etc.
Wind started increasing about a half hour ago. Power company sent out email warnings yesterday because of the possibility of outages.
