About 10 yrs ago, I read Consumer's report. They had a Kenmore model as #1. So I went right out and bought one. Was one of the hardest models to keep clean. Taking it apart to get the gunk out was a nightmare. Got rid of that one in short order. The salesman keep telling my wife that there is no need to pre rinse . So she doesn't. Then the repair men tell her to always pre rinse. When buying a dishwasher, one of the feature I strongly recommend looking for is ease of cleaning out stuff that should never have been in there in the first place. Go to youtube and review the vids on any machine you are considering.

We had an asko dishwasher (got it from barrons if memory serves). 3-4 years ago the control panel went dead, would cost as much as a new dishwasher to replace the board. Got a Whirlpool Quiet Partner II, no issues, easy to clean out the debris filter.

    I'm jealous.
My trucks are so overdue, I just cannot take the wind out here and the garage is too cold (even in the summer). Luckily my truck has leather seats, and the Blazer, ummmmm, I pretty much gave up on it with the wind out here, the window and door gaskets are old and dirt blows right through it.

I can tell ya not to buy Samsung. We bought a samsung washing machine that came apart and leaked water everywhere 4 times within 2 months of purchase before we forced sears to take it back and got a Kenmore. Which by the way now has an issue with the bearing on the bottom of the tub,2 years old. . Gotta fix that soon. Have a Samsung refridge that ice maker wont work which I may have fixed yesterday. Samsung wanted $600 to repair. Also the display and light work intermittently. 3 1/2 years old.
And my Samsung smart phone that lasted all of 4 months. Will never buy Samsung anything again.

    Doggy

Well that is just sucky luck. I have a Samsung S5 phone that I bought as a refurb in August of 2014 and it's still going strong (just remembered I have an S1 from 2009 that I kept in case I need it). Samsung front load washer and dryer bought in 2013 - still working good without any issues. Samsung LED TV bought in 2007 or 08 - still awesome picture and no issues. And that TV is on if I am home - whether it is being watched or not (even if I am sleeping). During the weekend it rarely gets turned off at all.

    I guess I've been lucky.
