    I can't claim that cut. Must have been cut by a tree service and then left on the side of the road. My chainsaw work is not nearly that clean.

    I had to notice it. So many cuts I have are not even close to that clean so it’s not a normal sight.

    It splits easy and burns great in my opinion.

    Oh, just a FYI, if the tree is on someone else's property they do have rights to it and it's best to ask permission. If it's on your property, cut away.

    This was brought up in a diff thread recently.
    Not all hoarding is equal, and laws differ from state to state.

    If it's state owned land, then you're likely within your rights to scrounge the wood, but I don't know.

    I read that thread! Good information. I normally would, but this was on a curb adjacent to wooded land that the city controls. And knowing how things work around here, it would sit and rot forever so I figured it was OK to take. It must have fallen over the road and someone cut it and pushed it to the side. The parts that I took anyway.
