Yummy! Man I love yellow rice also! Try throwing a small amount of chopped garlic in it also, it gives it a real unique taste you may like.
When I fix kraut and pork I usually use the crock pot. This time I will try something different. The kraut will dry out if I leave it for too long so I put some apple juice in for moisture and will cover it with foil later in the cook cycle. There is some extra juice to add to the skillets later when I foil them.
Crap!!! I got distracted with a plumbing job and the pork over cooked and dried out. I cut up some sausage and mixed in with the kraut instead. The kraut was just mediocre, rather bland. I guess it is back to pork shoulder slow cooked with kraut in a crock pot. At least I got some of the stuff on sale.
Being a House-Husband now, I cook every night, but tonight it is Fresh Haddock, peas (frozen sadly), and fresh fruit (gapes, pineapple, melon, watermelon served atop of plain yogurt and glazed with real maple syrup. I am not sure if I got all the food groups in, but it looks and smells good!
2 things....gapes.... unknown food in the rest of the country. (Of course you meant to spell “almonds”) Next, WE CAN’T TELL IF IT LOOKS GOOD!
2 cans red beans,2 cans kernel corn,large onion,4 celery hearts,baby carrots,small pork shoulder,cubed up chuck stew meat,onion powder,garlic powder,montreal steak seasoning,1 pack mushrooms.
