Not as cool as Walkers cat but just got back to the house after getting this cow outta the treeline down at my buddy's place. There are alot of coyotes around here and not enough people killing them. Oh Ya!! The tractor tire is back on
Snow is no match for the cow when the yotes can stay on the surface. Bastards yelp all hours of the night in the summer up at the shack. Need to get me some night vision for the AR. Tractor looking good there loon.
Not a fan of coyotes. Man, that tractor is set up to go thru some snow. Have you ever had snow you couldn't get thru (no ice under it). What a beast!
That is just rotten. Happens all the time when we mix farm animals in the same space that wild animals habitate. Around here, that seems to be anywhere the houses are not touching each other. Never used to have coyotes when I was growing up. But now they are here and in numbers. They run the power line that boarders my house lot. I don't let my dogs go near that area. Even then it is risky. My dogs are in the 100 lb range. Should be able to put up a fight. They start barking anytime anything comes in the yard. My cue to investigate. Losing a cow is big bucks gone. Time for a hunting party.
Loon. Maybe you could find a trapper to work your area of the woods. My nephew traps two or three farms around here and I let him trap my land. He gets a little of everything. From coon, beaver, skunk, and coyote. (Dam, smileys are screwed up again. Insert thumbs up smiley here.) I can't remember what he got for his furs, but he makes some money doing it. Really cool that he got into it. Taught himself and communicated with others in the area and has learned a lot about it. No one else in the family did it. For some reason he just got interested in it and went after it. His father is very proud of him. He is off to college this year. Going into a field of study that has to do with wood working and production. I have not had a chance to talk to him about yet.
Check to the right of its tail farmer and we figure thats one reason why it was singled out? It does work well skinny but there has been a couple times this winter i had to work at it. I usually carry the 22 when haying as the yotes quite often look for mice or whatnot behind the tractor. Emma is always barking at them in the woods behind the house savemoney and good for your nephew Gas. Its running good Well Seasoned.
I shoot every one I can put the sites on. Expelled 3 of them last year and none this year. My buddy set a trail camera on a den of them one time and counted 12 separate fawns being carried in there during the two weeks it was snapping pictures. Killed the whole lot of them at one time.
My neighbor thought it would be funny to play some Coyote sounds from a speaker in the back of his truck one night after I got home with the wife. Sounded like the damm things were in his backyard. Too close for my comfort. And he's damm lucky I don't own a gun. Might've gotten some free bodywork. There are somethings you just don't do to a farm kid.
