Anyone have any experience with Hughes net satellite internet? I'm looking for a provider and the phone company internet around me sucks. I've read that live gaming won't work on it and the girls like to play different PS4 games with their friends.

I use Hughes satellite internet. I pay through the nose for it, but there is no other choice out here. Not enough data for watching movies, music and videos, tyring to use ABCMouse.com for lil one is painfully slow and more often than not times out, so guessing games might do the same for you.

I'm grateful for it so I can have internet, but would move on in a heartbeat if DSL or other came out here, and strongly caution against it unless it's the only option.

Thanks. We have internet available from the phone company but it sucks and costs just as much as Hughes net which is 3 times faster.

If your dsl is slow, go to hughes. My mom has it up north. It's ok. A good router helps a ton. I have DSL at home, and it's slow. Mom's old router on the same Hughes net was not so fast either, but still better than my DSL. Now last time I was up north I installed a new router. Much much much faster.

Sorry for the assumption, could be regional pricing. I am over $100 per month with a data cap, DSL in town here with unlimited data is ( + landline phone ) runs $45. Then again my town is in the dark ages compared others in every aspect.

Dealt with it the first 2-3 years we were in this house.
As soon as Verizon had the tower to 4G and offered home wireless, we were on it.

It does beat crappy dial up.. but in crap weather, you're goin nowhere.

edit.. if cable were available here.. I'd be on that like flies on a horses droppings.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I was looking at Verizon also. If we had cable internet that is what I would use too.
