We eat them up until everyone is heartily sick of them by Easter.

April fool's day, eh? Guess so this year.

In case anyone is wondering, yes I'm still clearancing door jambs and trim for the vinyl plank flooring in the back hallway. No it's not fun, but I'm doing it the right way, not the halfassed way that I've seen done.

I'm still going to take a break and run the dolkita on some firewood in the yard.

Like a coping saw or small finish type saw

Yeah, I've got one of those oscillating multi tool things. It helps. The door trims are easy. It's the casement (I think) that it's not easy as I'm only cutting a notch in them and the wood is still connected. So I have to use the kitty bar to break the pieces off. There's probably a better way.

I think there is actually even a more specialized saw for that. Not saying I'd buy one for just the job either.

I have and know what the oscillating tool things is too.

Done with the trim clearancing. Waiting for my wife to come back from town with the 1/4" shims. Then I can install the hallway flooring. The spare bedroom will wait. It's getting the same flooring.

What is in your house now? Did you tear up carpet to put this stuff? I would assume so?

We did vinyl plank in the bathroom, works well and looks nice (if you don't notice the mistakes made in laying it). I was surprised it was so thick. I hired it out for reasons at the time, super nice guy but did not know how to lay flooring, trim not cut, didnt find the center of the room and started with full pieces on one side, everywhere except the row of tiny cuts infront of the tub :picard:. I'd like to re do it some day but it's working for us right now. Anyway it still feels more stable/more substantial than walking on our laminate flooring. bogieb put some down in her house too.

Two hours this morning outside cutting crap trees and brush. Then two more hours after lunch. I’m done for the day. Time to watch a little college basketball.

We had an awesome morning out in the sunshine gathering firewood. Now that lunch is over, we have to empty the truck. I will try to start a thread with our scrounging efforts. We ran into a large spruce butt end that was very stubborn. 3/4 of it is still out there in the woods.

Went to the cottage this morning and thought Backwoods Savage would like some pics of the snowbanks!

Highways are clear and the snowbanks are beginning to shrink!

I emptied the last of my shoulder wood out of the yard and onto the porch this morning. Then started moving some several year cut but unsplit oak that needed one more year after I split it out and started stacking.

After three wheelbarrow loads I decided that I should really be building a wood shed right there, and stopped. The rest of this years wood is going out front for the summer.

Now I need to learn myself how to do carpentry. Something I am TERRIBLE at. This should be interesting.

There was carpet over linoleum. The carpet was taken out years ago. The old linoleum is smooth, so it stayed. The vinyl plank is going over the vinyl in the hallway, but it will go over wood flooring in the spare bedroom.
I'll post up pics when the hallway is done.
It's still a pita, but a lot of that is because I'm not a small guy, and working on the floor sux.

You remind me I have some insulation I might roll out before it gets awfull up there. I have only had it for like 5 years in rolls up there from a project that was sidelined years ago. And I meant to use the insulation in another spot....just never put it there:whistle:

Yes, I'm trying to get this done before it warms up much...last weekend it got up to almost 60* out...started getting a lil warm up there! Yesterday was a high of 40*...much nicer working in the attic...its always nice to be able to wear long sleeves and not be sweating when working with insulation!
I'm doing the south attic first (cape cod) so if it warms up before I'm completely finished, hopefully I'm at least to the point of working in the north attic, which warms up slower without the sun beating on the roof so directly.
