Here comes the flood. Don't know how the stack will take it. Well the wood in the shed was dry. I've lost a bunch of red and white oak that was in the field that's now a lake.
I have to be honest with you; with all the fake news and anti-gun crap going on, I don't watch TV, but hear snippets of "flooding" here and there. Then you see photos of backyards of people you converse with and realize just what the news means by "some flooding". Sorry to hear you are getting so much rain. Here it is just warm and dry for February.
Would plastic fencing that they use in construction sites work to wrap around your stacks so they don’t float away? Wrap the stack and sink a metal fence post. Just trying to brain storm. Best of luck with the flooding.
Tough break there pal, hate it for you. Floods are occurring all over these parts. Hope it recedes soon.
It’s sad that the news media pits people against one another as it does. I believe that when you break it down, most people believe in very similar things as others do. You’d never know that from the news media. They want you to think it’s either “left” or “right”. Apparently there is no money in bringing people together....nor with reporting on floods, unfortunately.
Wow Ralphie that looks like some serious flooding there. I hope you have enough dry wood put away because what I see looks pretty wet. Not like snow that you can just brush off.
About 3/4 cord of 5 year old red oak on the covered front porch. That should hold me for the remaining burning season. If not, like Annie said "the sun will come out tomorrow."
Sad sight for sure. Glad the home is still above the water line, and I pray that it stays that way for you! Maybe a naive question; is there a hedgerow around that field that will save your wood when the water recedes?
The weather isn't fake. When they get it right at least. Right before it, or as it's happening. That sucks. That wood will be back at year zero for seasoning, whatever you can find at least.
