    o_O 2.50! 16 oz or 24 oz? Heck who cares 2.50s a steal!

Sheesh I need to move there!

On another note I’ve been looking at foam it green spray closed cell foam. R7 per inch!

I may do the ceiling and walls rather than the floor now that I have found that stuff. It’s a diy kit. If I did the floor with it it be R49! Way better than any blown in insulation....

They have open and closed cell kits.

What’s your thoughts guys? Of course this means conduit for wiring and a few other small modifications.

I would still recommend the gun. The straws are always popping out of the cheap trigger things they give you. And I've broken a trigger or two also. First squeeze so I doubt it was me. OSI and Great Stuff.

The ones I have been getting the straw slides onto a barbed fitting that is part of the nozzle/trigger thingy...it doesn't come off easily!
They are still a PITA though...with spotty results...some cans just seem to work better than others.

just remember if you run conduit you can not run sheathed cable by code, have to run individual wires

Pete I believe that kit is 200 feet .. 1 inch thick for 333. Or 1.67 a square foot, 1 inch thick.. My foam guys charge me 80 cents a foot 2 inch thick or half as much for twice foam.

You have a minimum amount they do though. And the more you use the cheaper the price can get.

I’ve tried to get ahold of the guys who did my walls but no respons so now I’m calling a few other companies with good ratings.

One is coming out for a quote this weekend I hope...I’ve done the prep work so hopefully they won’t be to pricey.

If that were mine, I would be looking at pulling down the lower ceiling and restoring the higher one. but I know it really involves a lot more that wanting too.

    Regional pricing for ya.

I also am looking at a version made by DOW that has way better reviews. Chances are I’ll pay somebody to do closed cell after looking at the prices. The R value is much higher than anything elseI can use with only 7” to fill.

If it were up to me, (and it isn't because it is your nickle) I would employ someone as you mentioned. Just keep looking to find someone to give you the right price. Independents usually are the ones willing to work for you. Maybe you can find someone to barter with. You fix something mechanical, they put in your insulation.

We shelled out $800 years ago at our previous house. Only $50 on tax credits, I did not realize how bad the crawl space was, the house was SOOOO much warmer after it was done, saved us both wood and propane instantly, well worth it since we saved so much $$ in heating so quickly!!!

Also, the crawl space was 5' high on the east, but 5" high on the west side, glad it was the insulation company crawling down there instead of me (ya, I always have to do the small spaces because of my size read-crawl space-shallow attics-.......)

Pallet Pete , I bought something similar to the green box you posted. Not sure why but it did not work for us, it expanded initially then ran down later. Not sure if the mix was wrong or if it was too cool when we used it or what, but bummed it didn't work. We ended up using cans over all the places again, and yes, they are $6.49 here.
