    Page 56 of the Drolet manual covers burning with the optional screen in place.

    Now, I'm not doubting you had a CO issue, but the CO should be hot, and should go up the chimney, not out the door...

    Is the OP running a Buck FS21 or a Drolet??

    Page 23 of the Buck manual says
    NOTE: THE FUELING DOOR MUST REMAIN CLOSED DURING OPERATION.
