Hey, the name seems to fit - and will be a great conversation starter. I can see it now:

    Stranger: What's your dogs name?
    Lucy: Velcro
Stranger: I'm sorry, what was that again?
    Lucy: Velcro
    stranger: [priceless expression]

    How about Neo

    Neo means "new"
Neapolitan is a breed of Mastiff
Maxandneo.com is a dog supplies website I've bought from before, they support dog shelters with their proceeds

He looks good Lucy! X2 on Neo- but more like the matrix guy. I have a feeling he'll be dodging bullets before long. :BrianK:

I like the idea of Neo. Hunter was a consideration but very conventional albeit fitting. You should see him go after Bunny Rabbits, poor little guys but this one fortunately escaped. I'll try Neo out on him see what he thinks, it's a good name for long distance calling in the valley too.
I think something may be wrong with his back legs or hips. He runs like a deer, biiiig jumps with both hind legs. Do any of yours do that?

If he is bunny hopping when he is running, it could be a sign of hip socket problems. If he is still growing, it could just be the result of a growth spurt which happens in very young big breed/big bone dogs. Time will tell.

The bunny hop in the rear legs could be what rottiman said or a knee/ acl problem.

Yes, it could be. Unfortunately slowing down isn't in his vocabulary any more than in Max's. If they don't slow down they won't see old age. When i say jump, i don't mean hop, he was easy 4 or more feet off the ground and flying through the air. You all have watched a deer from behind when they push off with both back legs at the same time, it's very powerful and it launches them into the air. That is exactly what he does and he is very fast. I've seen some herding dogs go through the air like that when they are working. I've always had big dogs and some pretty fast ones but i've never seen one fly like that.
Maybe he was raised by deer:emb:. Here is a collie who is a runner jumper , he jumps high and quite a distance at high speed on the trail.

Ah yes, Neo is so far in first place, hope he listens to it. Looked at his molars and they are all in, so he is at least 7-8 months.

I just watched a few of dog running videos and it seems pretty normal for a lot of them to push off with both back legs at the same time when they are running really fast. Lets hope that's all it is. I already have Max with bad legs and Lucy with very shallow hips.

If he has long legs (most likely), that is natural. I've had greyhound mixes and that is the way they ran. Also known people with borzoi's and saluki's and their dogs ran like that. He may change his running gate if his body grows into his legs. Also, most of the time when we see a dog "running", they are actually loping so seeing a flat out run will look different/weird.

Yes, sounds normal then. If he were running with a hop in the rear, then i would think there was an issue.
