Whew. Finally home. 5 hours instead of 1.5 The flatbed showed up in about an hour and fifteen minutes. $110 tow bill. Had to send it to an unknown, near the breakdown site, trailer shop to save money. Towing it home or to my buddies shop would be been well over an additional $100 for the tow alone. I'm thinking the axle is trashed. I didn't do it any favors trying to beat the old race off with a punch and hammer. If I have to replace it, I'll be getting one with brakes. The old one had no brakes.
Were there bearing buddy's on that trailer? Not like they will prevent every bearing failure, it can still happen.

Nope. Just a cap. Bearings were probably due to be replaced honestly. I did my other trailer and kinda forgot to do this one Nobody's fault but mine really.
