Nice!!! Cut down a standing-dead striped maple yesterday - most went straight to the stove. The first four feet went to the woodpile for next season. Also a standing-dead white birch (that one has been burnt already). Trying to stretch the wood pile.
Those limbs were a pain, they have little offshoots all over them and they like seem to stick together. my arms are all scratched up from them
Branches can be most of the workout can't they? In the spring, I've discovered (the hard way) that I have to stay away from apple tree branches. Couple of scratches and I'll itch for weeks. Never had to think about it until about 6 years ago, when I started itching anytime I got near it.
stihl sawing, is this your property and why did that tree have to come down? Really none of my business, but I have cut w0od for 40 years and have always hated to cut down a live tree....just wondering?
It's crushing the sewer pipe that comes from that building behind it. I planted that one too years ago. it also has those little leaves that are hard to get up.
Good job. I don't care for any trees that can fall and damage your home. We can plant a lot of low growing trees for landscaping and shade.
OK, that I understand. I have cut a lot of live trees in my life, but there has to be a good reason or I won't do it. Call me a tree hugger if you want, but they have kept me warm and happy for too long....so I respect them I guess.
That is my wife's tax business in the picture, My home is on the other side of the driveway, or behind me while taking that pic.
I had a little help on this tree, if you look at the first pic close you will see a chain and cable at the fork. the cable is going to my truck winch. I used it just to be sure cause it had to fall through a couple other bigger trees you can't see in the pic.
I'd have a line to a vehicle there just because of the building… they're like giant magnets (Murphy's Law). Good call…
Great pics ! I love hauling branches in the pickup . When its time to unload......Ill grab a couple branches on the bottom of the stack...and yank Not quite as cool as a dump truck...but it works !
