Any one know a fair value for such a saw and will it handle a 36" bar&chain?

Condition is everything. Some are fugly, and worth a couple hundred. Others are near new and fetch $600+. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

36” on an 066? Piece of cake..... :saw:

Ditto. By me nice ones are 700 ish. 36” full comp on a stock 066 isn’t an issue. It doesn’t pull it with authority in my opinion but pull it it can.

Depends on the 066.... not all are created equal unfortunately. The older it is, the more it’s going to have where it counts. The MS660s need a little help crawling out there box IMO. :picard:

    #farmer rob,
I'm no chainsaw mechanic but that 066 looks a little rough to me for $599. Just from the 1 pic the recoil handle looks lose or something, there is broken vents on the recoil cover, and not sure why somebody would leave the chain so loose. Might be worth taking a look if everything else checks out then work them down on the price. Figure out what a new recoil and cover cost, then try to beat them up as much as you can on price.

I see it's been posted for 5 days, around my parts the best deals are usually snatched up within 24 hours.

That's a $ 400.00 saw, $ 450.00 if the compression is good & the piston looks good through the exhaust port. Pictures are deceiving, but looking at it from that angle that bar is 24" not 34". If they put a tape on it it would measure about 34" if it was a 36".
