I've wanted to grow a beard. My facial hair grow fast and thick. However, it is all white. Are beards hard go keep trimmed? I get a rash every time I shave so this might be a solution. Might hide one or two of my necks.
I only shave once or twice a week. I am itchy after the shave. Brake out in hives. I have to use a hair trimmer first before I shave because the razor can't handle it. Only thing is I look very different not shaved. I'm tempted. Wife says she doesn't care.
I used to only shave once every couple of weeks then my wife bought me a shaving kit from The Art of Shaving and let me tell you its a joy to shave now. I still shave under my beard along the neck line to keep things in check. If you do decide to just let it grow keeping it in check is easy as you want it to be you have to be patient and let it get some growth I would also recommend using shampoo and conditioner in it a couple times a week. I also use a beard oil a couple times a week to help keep the beard soft and it helps to keep the skin under the beard from drying out to bad.
Go for it. Give it a month and see how it feels. For a while I changed my facial hair like girls change hair styles. FYI, I look pretty BA with a Paul Teutul beard.
I just don't want a Santa beard. I'm already too fat. I don't need any more poking. I'll give it some thought and keep you posted. Maybe some pics of the stages. Anyone else game to try?
I tried to go with a longer beard, but it makes me look a lot older. I wasn't ready for that, so now I go for the #2 trimmer guard and keep it short but full.
I am the same way don't feel bad. The longer mine gets the older I look. Its always funny when my boys were babies (one still is) they would look at me awfully strange when I shaved in the spring.
Grow it! It would be cool if you posted pics in stages. Like others said, once you get past the itchy stage your home free. A lot like to trim here and there w/o waiting. Give it a solid month before making any trimming decisions. I use jojoba oil to keep it tame on occasion, with a good boar hair brush. Brushing the beard a few times a day will keep it tame. Good luck SM!
