I believe it is was wherever the official total is tallied - which is not necessarily where the highest amount is received.. In NH, the official snowfall is tallied in Concord and here is the official climate data that closely resembles the claimed average in the article. However, if you pick a certain city, such as Colebrook, NH, the snowfall averages around 20" more per winter. By looking at a couple of other "state" averages, it seems the official average is taken in the state's capital (although I could be wrong).

That's exactly what happened up here. Yet wherever a snow mobile trail crosses a paved road, they carve a trench across the road with their studded tracks and that is Okay. Go figure............................

What you have been watching is mixed doubles curling which is a newer version of the traditional curling game. When you have the hammer you get to throw the last rock in the end and more than likely score. Through out the end, you try to place the rocks so you have more than the opponents in scoring position. Once the women and men curling start, you will see the more traditional game. And the two brushing men on the men's Canadian team - can they ever sweep!

I am not sure what the Power play is as it isn't used in regular curling and I haven't watch enough of the mixed doubles to know what it is. The scoring is based on who ever has the most rocks closest to the center. If your rock is red, then the most red rocks closest to the center counts. If there is one red and then a yellow, only the red will count. As @horkin said, the sweeping allows the team to direct the rock or keep it on the course you want it.

I hope you will continue to watch it as the next set starts. The strategy and skill can be quite intense.

Until this state gets budget straightened out. I don't see it happening. Most of secondary roads still snow and ice covered since December in my area

That's about what I figured because the figure they give is about what Detroit gets. But Detroit is far from any snow belt areas. Basically in MI, you can go from Clare north for good snow plus along Lake MI and some areas in the thumb.

Got the call I didn't want to get today...another weekend on the road to TX. :(

But I get the next 2 days off. :D

But it's going to rain the whole time. :(

But I can still fire up the smoker, drink beer, and build some stuff in the shop when it's raining....and that's exactly what I plan on doing. :D

Thanks for the link. I can watch with a little more understanding now. Last night's commentator did a little more explaining than the one for the mix doubles.

That's what happened in Wisconsin. They've been illegal here since the mid 70's.

Not all sleds have studded tracks. The guys with studded tracks are typically not spinning the track across the road. That gets expensive. Now pretty much every single sled has carbide runners on their skis. Probably like 99+ %.

Now, unless you clear the road....

I estimate 1 or 2, maybe 3. I’ve been called a horse roughly that many times. Or something like that..... :p:picard:
