We have a very long driveway and when the snow piles up it gets to be a pain. My plow truck is getting old and my New Holland has a good plow but no cab. I don’t want a cab on my tractor because I want to go into the woods with it. I am thinking about getting a Kubota RTV with a snowblower.

It is expensive, but I want something I can get in and clear the driveway. Sometimes my wife has to clear the driveway and I want something easy for her to use. I like this option because we have 22 acres that are fairly wet and we could use this for odd jobs. Maybe I could find a nice used one and save some money.
    Any thoughts? Thank you!

For the money they want for those SS machines no matter the company I would by a Kubota BX series with snow blower and front loader and a soft cab quick and easy to remove and handy for more than blowing snow like carrying mulch around to all the flower beds.

A used YJ jeep with a plow would be WAAAAAAAY cheaper too and could be used on the road if need be.

My self can't believe people pay that kind of money for a SS even with out a plow or blower.

Guys around here were buying them then wanting to use them on ATV, dirtbike and snowmobile trails. Found they were to wide for that so started cutting trees to widen the trails. Got caught and now are paying big fines. Trails are narrow to keep people from running CJ jeeps on them.

I know a couple of folks who have those Kubotas and they love them. But the cost factor is a bit scary. I do like Al's idea of a small BX tractor. Check with rottiman as I think he just got a new one this year.

With the amount of time I spend in it I want a hard cab, with heat and a good windshield wiper when running a blower. Having that is what starts getting expensive. My nieces husband is a Kubota rep and I’m hoping he could find a gently used one. I have a nice tractor and would rather not get another one.

You get what works best for you and does not put you back too far $$$$. I wished I had made a move like that many years ago, but now I feel too old to make it worth while. My son has a lot of equipment to move the snow, etc.

Well you asked for our option. If you have your mind set on spending that kind of money just say look what I'm buying.

Check into Japanese Mini Trucks. Much less expensive than SxS. Better bed. Full cab with heat . defrost. Wipers .

I am open to peoples opinion especially when it’s backed by experience. I have quite a bit of experience clearing snow at home and at work, so I have some opinions on what I want already. I am fortunate to have a decent budget for this as I plan to sell my plow truck and snowmobiles.

And if your wife likes the hard top and heater & wipers, might be a done deal already:salute:

Recall Mrs Stinny cruising around having a blast on the riding mower and the same on the quad watering her planters? Too Cute :)

I say you should get exactly what you want, can afford and enjoy also the support of your significant other...I too am amazed at the cost of SxS but dang if thats not one wicked looking machine. It will functionally serve you well with wood and hunting also if you're into that. Life is too short Jack Straw so enjoy and post pics. Hope you find a gently used one at great savings. Cant wait to see it in action.

Well I agree with everyone who says they are expensive. A good quality machine like that will hold its value much better than a cheap unit or a truck. A Jeep on the other hand seems to keep its value also. I like the hard cab and that seems what adds the cost to a side by side or a tractor. A foot operated hydrostatic pedal on a tractor is awesome for snow clearing!

Jack Straw, also have 22 acres and looong driveway. Since you mentioned kubota have you looked at toolcat? Got a great processor attachment:D

I have looked at side by sides and the price range for me it just doesn't seem to justify it when are used Jeep is cheaper in about the same thing. Plus there's the I don't have the budget yet whole problem.

Wow, those are nice! They gotta be pricey. Nice attachments though! We have a Bobcat skid steer at work with a snowblower. What a nice machine.
