Speaking of weather guys and gals....with how many that constantly work with the various models that climate change and global warming are being used, it’s no wonder some have gone nuts trying to sort it out.

In the PNW, we have the term La Niña which is a weather pattern that is influenced by the Pacific Ocean. It tends to bring colder weather but slightly drier winters. Its not an accurate way but it does help say when the guessers are needing some kind of info in a prediction, they use this for an outlook. El Niño is an opposite: Warmer wetter weather.

Now its at La Nada: cold normal ocean temps but weather is not consistent . The problem is when predicting, they have a better chance of getting the weather right for the week in El Niño than they do for more than a couple days with La Nada. This affects CA more with draughts and all... now they will have difficulty predicting rain for when fire season will comes.

12,ooo yrs. ago we where under a glaicer a mile thick. But thankfully, not now. Anyways, its warmed right up to 22* with a brisk breeze. A regular heat wave. We're supposed to warm up and get rain. Yuk!

A balmy -12 C feels -21 C, or 10 F feels -5 F. Supposed to get just below freezing later, but the wind is going to amp up. Poplar in the stove.

24f and the Huskys already standing in his frozen pool . Small fire today . Need to split up some logs . At 15 oak slab bundles consumed. 2100 lbs a piece.. that kept me out of trouble.

Sean, typically we do not see much sun in winter months. It really starts in the fall but come March things start to change a bit. But thank to the Great Lakes, we do have more clouds than a lot of folks. Sunny yesterday; cloudy today. Supposed to be sunny again tomorrow but then back to clouds again the next day.... But I'll be happy with every other day.

Hopefully that is so. They had a tough time but this kind of weather pattern could make or break a California Spring/Summer

Just below freezing now , with not much worse expected overnight, perhaps 5-6 degrees colder. Burning up some small poplar while basking in the heat.

25F. Split some oak from a tree that had been down for awhile. Some punky stuff, but a bit of good too. A bunch of split stringy like elm for some reason. :(
Just sitting by the fire (ash and cherry) with my dog.

25F & not supposed to get much colder, that's great! This morning's 5 deg was about enough. Got a foot or better of snow that's getting too crusty to do much in. Sun shone yesterday & today, 20 felt balmy. Oak & Ash on duty tonight & I'm betting on a much warmer IAT tomorrow morning.
