So, apart from one poster going off the rails, does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should put in my kitchen other than a 30? When I redo the hearth I will have an opening of 34.5" wide, 38" deep, and about 33" high.

For the value drolet or the 30. Maybe sparkys summit? It would be curious to see what it does in another setup.

lol, no biggie, was worth mentioning though as it does demonstrate how an outside force could affect the burn rate of the stove. in your case the stove has a device to change the airflow to compensate for lower surface temps.

Interesting. Spark's summit would be a neat idea. But Spark is looking to get as much possible for the stove, and I can't blame him. If he was closer I would see if I could get him to loan it to me for a season to see how it works.

Not really, but I like the Drolet suggestion. Get a cheap stove now, like Dave did, and you can always recoup most of your cash if and when you make a change. Another plus....they've got blowers.

If you were close we could probably figure something out. But, Idaho is a bit of a drive.

Iowa is a lot closer

Wife is going to Omaha in a couple of weeks to visit her uncle. I, (un)fortunately, can't get the time off. Otherwise we could get it to Michigan.

You are joking asking this, again, right? I've only been part of this "group" for two years now, you have asked the same question since day 1 two years ago. Over and over and over .... Your not going to get a free stove, that takes the place of your three stoves, and burns for 2 weeks on a load of two splits, with or without a blower. You keep saying you have years of experience with many different stoves, for which I don't question. Yet you keep asking the same question, and shooting down every suggestion offered to you. Give up already, get an oil or natural gas heater!

I think most of the board would like to know what your problem is.

I doubt it. Besides, he doesn't have problems, just solutions. :)

I'm pretty much done with this thread after the constant attempts to derail it but I do have this to say, I'm pretty sure that this forum was created so that we can discuss wood stoves so if any one of us wants to sit around and muse about which stove we would like to put on our hearth next we are more than welcome to do so whether we discuss it for 5 years or 1 day. That being said if you don't want to read about it why do you constantly come back to the thread and berate the OP for discussing what he feels like talking about.

Edit: I am not meaning to come off as mean (wanted to make that clear) I am just more puzzled as to why this is such an issue. I really mean this as politely as possible but if it bothers you that much I would just ignore this thread. Others on this forum may be new to burning wood and gleaning a lot of information from this. Helping other through our experiences should be the goal here!

As a lurker over the last several months I would add that the discussion about various stoves and their pros and cons has been very educational and informative.
