So I had to move some pellets around today in my garage. I still had two leftover NEWP bags from the ton that I won about 5 years ago using them as a bottom layer "moisture barrier" from the concrete to the pellets that I stack on top of them. Decided to throw them in the stove early today. Burning fine so far.....go figure.

Not a done deal yet, spent some time with the stove today and other then the much bigger hopper I'm not sure it's impressed me enough to take the plunge.Gonna think it over a few days.

Tell them you need to take it home and test it first....then you'll decide if you want it :D

Chit, I completely forgot to swing through Home and Hearth on my way home from dads. Still using the original flame guide and wanted to pick up a new one.

I see you have been at this since 2005, so I know you really know about heating with pellets. You bought an Allure without glass. ? why no glass. I often evaluate what is going on by what I can see. I don't know anyone else with that unit. I'll be interested on what you think of its performance. I have the P68. Night and day from my other stove. I only wish the hopper on my stove held more pellets.

I can see some installs where the ambient light from the flame can be an issue.

The Allure glass front is a huge piece of glass and I could just see it getting bumped easily and broken, plus we all know how glass is to keep clean, those are the main reasons I opted for no glass. They had an operating stove at the dealer so they fired it up for me to see it burn while the salesman and I chatted. It burned nicely and could crank out some heat when turned up. The touch control is nice and has some nice features but Harman locks you out of some of the features like being able to adjust the blower speed and feed rate, don't like that I would be dropping that kind of money on a stove and get locked out of adjustments although it's not a concern as I have gotten the password to get into the locked menu. For next year I'm considering going too 100% pellet heat which would be no problem with my Ravelli except for hopper size it only holds 35 lbs and burns approximately 16 hrs. on a hopper which 95 % of the time would be fine except for the weekends my son has wrestling tournaments and we are gone from early morning to late at night. The allure has a 92 lb hopper so I could easily go 2 days without refilling. The allure would also be the closest stove to make work with my current install ( i have researched many with the larger hoppers ) . Now the reason I didn't pull the trigger yet is that other than the larger hopper I wouldn't really be gaining much that my Ravelli don't already have or do.
Allure- Scrape burn pot daily with out shutting down / wash ( may or may not need to be done with either stove depending on pellets )
Allure- has bigger ashpan and can be emptied without shutting down / wash except the Ravelli needs to be emptied once a week
Allure- has more BTU / I will call it a wash because I never run the Ravelli above 2 so plenty of extra heat if needed
    Allure- bigger hopper / win
Allure- both touch control but give a win to the Allure for a few nicer features and more simplistic
Allure- dealer stocks parts and much closer then the Ravelli dealer so a win for the Allure
Allure- looks to be little easier to deep clean but the LBT pretty much handles that on the Ravelli so I will call it a wash

This is just my conclusion after spending 2 hrs. at the dealer so for now I'm just gonna think it through as I have time because I wouldn't swap the stoves out right now in the middle of heating season either way.

Do you really have to scrape the burnpot daily, or even every few days?

Asking because I have no actual experience with harman brands.
