Sooooo I just want to say that Rob CleanFire and I had this twisted, half assed bet on the Super Bowl.....not even sure how it happened since being a Raider fan, I really had no skin in the game other than beating the Pats. Anyway, being the man he is, he got a hold of Joe Bucks Pellets and put some money on my account, which in turn, I bought Vandy Plat's!!! So in the spirit of true sportsmanship, I'm offering Rob, his bag of choice out of my stash to be sent to his house or his destination of choice (within the US  ) Just let me know what you want.

I don't think so - I've seen them before during winter and these didn't look like that. They were very skittish and quiet and did not stay but a couple of seconds as a couple of juncos landed and some blue jays came to perch on some tree limbs and scout the area. Looking up grackles, they are about the same size as blue jays - and the birds I saw were definitely smaller.

Perhaps they were brown headed cowbirds. Don't usually see them in winter, but not unheard of. The light was wrong so I wouldn't have been able to see the brown head. Definitely not red-winged blackbirds. I know their calls and I would have seen the flash of red on the wings.

Nah, that would be squirrels and blue jays. That is why I have a big seed block out in the back, so they (usually) leave feeders alone since they are beside the house and have squirrel cages around the tubes. However, did see a blue jay hanging off the suet feeder and then he sampled some seed from the feeder before deciding it was easier on the ground.

After writing that this morning I shoveled all the dumpage from the roof (hadn't dumped since the snow last week). That roof is like a plow driver, it dumped and I cleaned it up. Then once I had gotten all my stuff off, it went and dumped again :hair:. After that I got both stoves cleaned out - all but the exhausts which I had done a couple of weeks ago, so didn't even take the fan covers off. Then dump run and other errands. Stopped at Agway since they are having a pellet sale; $5.50/bag or $250 ton - EVEN NEWPS!!!! (their email ad was very proud of that). Turns out all they had were NEWPS so I decided I didn't need any (I do still have several tons). Mailed my BIL's birthday card and got groceries. Somewhere in ther I got some laundry done and used damaged pellets and sand to fill in some deep muddy tracks from the truck tires just outside the tent garage. Oh, and I got some organizational / administrative stuff done as part of my duties as LOH Officer.

I think I'll see the Doctor, then maybe some Kahlua.
