Like new Poulan Pro 330, LIKE NEW!

I have been back and forth, and back and forth on this saw. Yeah, I would like to keep it- as would I with every other saw that I have parted with. Fact is, I just don't need it. I want to see it go to a loving home.
Saw isn't even broken in yet, I got it from a friend new old stock less than a year ago. It is perfect, nothing less.

You are buying it as you see it. Like new in every way. You are buying it as is, guaranteed to run and cut when you get it. I imagine it should be a strong, reliable saw for you. It has been nothing but a shelf queen for me.

$250 and I will split the shipping with you. This was a 400 dollar saw at one time when new. If you would like, I will modify the muffler baffle for you (big performance increase). As of right now, it is stock and like new.

Any of you locals that want to check it out, just give me a shout. You will fall in love with this saw at first sight . Between trap and other saws, I could use the funds elsewhere.

 

I was tempted to list mine, but I will let your sale run before I do it. Just don't need both the 330 and the 3450.

So for the edification of members like me who don't have the depth of experience some have, how does this model compare to more recent models of other brands? Poulan has spun so far down the quality drain that I reflexively ignore it, but I know they used to make some good stuff.

 

Performance would lay somewhere around a 254XP. What I cant put into words, is the excellent ergonomics of this saw. Everything is where it is supposed to be, and just feels right in your hands. Hate to sell it, but open to offers. Have to many things going on, and bought a similar Craftsman model that I ported and cut the cylinder on. Poulan made some of the finest firewood saws that there ever were, Husqvarna just wont let me put their name on anything beyond a box store saw nowadays. Electrolux bought them back in the late 70's, and ended up under Husqvarna when they were made their own entity.

 

Wow, thank you. When was this one made? It looks like it popped out of the factory last week.

 

Not quite sure, its probably around 5 years old maybe a little more. TSC had them on closeout a few years ago as a special deal, for $199.99- which would have been the guy of a lifetime. I wasn't into saws like I am now, or would have bought them up to hold onto for a while.

 

I didn't realize Poulan's transition to cheap saws was so recent.

 

Little brother to my late '90's Super 380 (62cc,dual thin piston rings,chrome plated cylinder,13,500 RPM screamer & 12.5 lbs powerhead only weight)

Will pull a 24" w/skip chain all day long but I bought it from local dealer new in March 2000 with 20" cause that fits in the case I had better. 100+ cords,all kinds of abuse in all temps/weather conditions,2 air filters,1 spark plug,replaced clutch in May 2011,finally had to replace original bar in Sept. 2012. My ''go to'' saw for 80% of my general firewood cutting.Still starts 2-3 pulls cold,1 pull warm,with very good compression.

 

Im still tempted by that beauty Carbine !! Ive been considering selling a few saws myself though .

 

Really hate to sell it, but my CAD has been out of control for a while. I might be able to take something in partial trade or work something out for you. Need the money more than I need another saw but who knows.

I would say price wise it is somewhere in the middle of real nice 330's. Not a super bargain, but a fair price for a like new saw. I left myself a little room for haggle . Seems like it doesn't matter what I advertise something for, there will be some haggling going on lol. I typically do the same.

 

One in similar condition recently sold on eBay for $300 with free shipping, meaning the seller probably cleared about $235. Makes your offer here look better than fair.

 

If I am not mistaken, the year of manufacture should be on the sticker on the top cover.

 

I think you are right Gary, I will check here in a bit and report back.
